*Pokes my head in here because I too am thinking about a new laptop* I've had Lenovo the past few times because they've been durable enough to survive my clumsiness. The specs I want in an upgrade are more expensive in this brand though, so I'm willing to cheat.

Oh so helpful guilt-ridden white folks in positions of power in creative industries: I feel so bad about racism that I've decided to create this weeklong opportunity for a job that pays the lowest rates we've ever given. And we've sent this message to every black person's email we scrounged off the internet without bothering to see if they even work in this field. I'm not even a professional artist and this shit is pissing me off. Like they really think black folks are some bargain basement special just drooling to grab one of these shitty handouts. It's one of those shows on my watchlist I never get around to watching like the original Arslan Senki ova. But you know what, I'm in resting mode right now and two episodes are on youtube.

*Watches Perry Mason reboot trailer. Sighs* You know, I'd be excited for an old school PI show, but now I'm annoyed because that is no Perry Mason. Going in a totally different direction works for a show like Battlestar Galactica that was a corn fest, but the original Perry Mason had some damn good writing. While this new show does have a good cast, it still has a generic gritty remake feel to it. Another thing. Why does every reboot have to be dark? I mean actually dark. I'm tired of always having to squint at shit or adjust the colors on my tv.

No.6 is the name of the anime. I can get it in the next month or 2, I'm just complaining about how most of the shows I like seem to be disappearing even quicker now. It's hard to keep up right now with my financial means, but that'll improve since my health is better and I can write at a normal pace again.

What I added to my collection since Rightstuf's latest sales: Hakkenden season 1 and 2 blu-ray upgrades Karneval Full Metal Panic season 1 and 2 Free season 1 since it was only 7.99 Initial D 2-3 Stage Noragami season 1(Thank goodness I wasn't super into season 2) Ugh. I need to save my money but I'm more annoyed that I can't afford No.6 for a while. Why does everything I like have to go out of print?

🤪 I totally killed my budget by stress-buying anime. Now I gotta release a book next week or be broke. I have a book almost ready, but goddamn that little cushion could have let me be lazy for a while. Not being able to move out of this state before the pandemic hit is fucking with me, especially since there are constatnt reminders of why I'm trying to flee from here. My ass needs to be saving for a new laptop too.

SorceressPol - I was obsessed with sorceress/witch characters in fiction growing up, and Polgara was my favorite. It's gone into retirement since the news about David and Leigh Eddings going to prison for child abuse in '69. I mean full on children in dog cages and a 'special needle' that was hung up on a hook. His neighbors and freaking dentist turned him and his wife in. Like y'all know shit's bad when well off white suburbia breaks the code of silence on child abuse when beating the shit out of kids was totally acceptable. DragonSinger - favorite Fantasy book growing up that I resonated with a lot back in the day.

The only positive things I could think of is that I could publish stories right when gay romance and paranomal romance blew up(advances during the Twilight/Hunger Games era were insane) and buy stocks.

Ugh, early voting tomorrow. Hopefully there aren't any crowds if I get there when they first open in the morning. I would have considered absentee voting if I didn't have that bitch ass motherfucker Kemp as a governor. Fucking Georgia.

DRIVE THE FUCKING SPEED LIMIT ON THIS FUCKING ROAD AND DON'T PASS ANYBODY. That's all you have to do to not end up in a ditch or push someone in a ditch. And unlike winter, those fucking weeds are thriving. A hit and run driver fucks you up without there being witnesses around and you become immobile, no one's gonna find your ass for weeks. As we drove past the emergency vehicles, you can see right into the ditch, and there's no sign of a car except a barely perceivable rectangular shadow. There's no glint of light on anything. The only clues are the horrified faces of the people who pushed that car in as they stare down at that spot and the cops staring down at that spot too while trying to figure out how to fish out whoever's inside that car to the approaching ambulance. And fuck this heat!

Yes we do. Watching tall people run into shit. I get a burst of petty joy when you tall motherfuckers ram right into chandeliers that I was too short to even notice. Bonus petty joy when it's the top of a door frame.

Baby Driver 4/10 - I really couldn't stand it. It was a mess to me, and the characters didn't make any sense. The latter is something I can handle if the movie is entertaining enough, but this movie didn't pull it off for me. It's also a pet peeve of mine when a movie focuses more on looking cool to the point it comes off very unnatural like the laundry mat scene. I'm completely distracted from what's actually going on because ermergerd, let's look at the clothes in the dryers that are super bright red, blue, and yellow. This seriously annoyed the shit out of me: I'm also biased because I was really into garish late 90's-early 2000's crime movies that nailed the aesthetic that Baby Driver was going for.
