I knew something was up with Rick and Morty beating Family Guy across the board. It may be wrong, but its possible it still won. I guess we’ll never know

Maybe now that it’s on Roku and other TV streaming apps they could be gearing up for something new I posted this on Reddit but this is what I want to see: I was hoping a few years ago that they would run a daily block of like 4 shows they have the rights to that aren’t currently airing on the block. They would post a schedule for the week.Everyday they could change the episodes and simulate what an on air daily Toonami block would be like. They could rotate something else in when one thing ends. If they wanted to they could run earlier episodes of something they currently have to like HxH, Jojo, IBO or Super.This thing with the marathons was good when they would run the whole series in a week, but now they barely ever go beyond the same 5 episodes in a week. I wish they’d get more creative with it

Not sure what new show could turn it around. I personally want sonething fresh. I dropped Stardust already and I’m about to do the same with HxH. Believe it or not Clover and IBO are what I’m liking right now. I want something to get excited about. I just really hope the mystery show isn’t Star Blazers, thats not the kind of show to kick things up. I hope they get Franxx it ReZero!

I know we've talked about this before, but do you really think its a good idea to lead off the block with FLCL? I think its kinda out there and might erode Super's potential audience. There's alot of synergy between Family Guy's audience and Super and I think FLCL just screams "ANIME!!!" and could drive that audience away. Plus the content might be a little too much for prime time. I think it's probably best served in the 11:00 hour.

Nick at Nite, TBS, and MTV(recovering ) seem to be doing well still, but besides that, alot of people would probably realize how far basic cable has fallen in the last few years.

At least they got some of Netflix's money for those Godzilla commericals!

I mean, yeah, there's nothing WE can do about this. We're not the problem, we actually watch the block. Its really up to them to do something about this if it concerns them, if it doesn't, then whatever, we keep watching them block anyway.

I guess lets just see how the rest of the night panned out. I hope the crew just does whatever they have to do to keep the ship afloat. If they don't do anything, then I suppose they think its alright. What concerns me is just how fast the viewership erodes following Super. That show is still averaging a million a week. It seems we no longer have people who look at the block as a weekly event. Before, we'd usually lose half the viewers by the end of the night, not in the first 2 hours. Its almost the same numbers wise, but not percentage wise.

I don't know what to think anymore. Jojo and Gundam should probably move later at this point. I wonder how HxH and the rest did? If they gain on those shows, then somethings wrong here. While Mitch seems pretty keen on providing Toonami data, I've seen him just straight up be mean to people who ask him things.

They probably would do better than this if they Ran the DB Hour, Naruro, Jack S5, encored the DB hour, and ended the night with Bebop! I hope whatever show they are working on getting brings some viewers back. But maybe Dragonball is all this audience wants.

Yeah, the audience wants what it wants. If Naruto holds DBZ better than all the other shows can, put it there. To me it feels more natural to go from the light shonen stuff to the dark violent stuff (Jojo, Gundam, and sort of HxH now) to Naruto.

But to be fair, Nick at Nite has a bunch of cable premieres of decade old episodes of Two and a Half Men going (800k at 1am). Good luck taking that on Toonami??.

Naruto is just one of those shows people just watch like DBZ. These filler episodes, while light and simple, are all episodic and not difficult to follow at all. Even the heavy on plot canon episodes do well and this year outperform the show proceeding it. It seems to have a built in audience and will boost the back end a little when it plays at 1:30.

Makes me think that they need to Re-merge AS and CN, put Lazzo, Manning, and Demarco in charge of the whole thing. Make it an all ages channel with a young adult focus with obviously mature content at night. It seems they lost the battle for the kids. Maybe that’s not good for Nielsen though, I don’t know?

I bet Super needing to stay in prime time per contract is what’s keeping Toonami from moving back later.The split premiere didn’t work for them so this is the next best thing.

Shippuden moving up will probably help things overall. This sort of speaks for itself

True enough. It can happen probably end of the year though. Epcar has been very forthcoming about their desire to do it as well as sort of dropping hints they already do. They started working on Part 4 I’m January of 16 and we didn’t see it until mid 17. I think Toonami having a business relationship (thanks to Discotek hooking them up) with TMS will shorten the wait time, but it’s so up in the air with all the parties involved that we have no idea how long it’ll take.

If they don’t like how it’s doing they’ll move it I suppose. Maybe they got it cheap since the production company really wants to make it the next big thing. Im surprised they haven’t moved a Jojo yet since I doubt that came cheap.Then again that may be why, they can’t afford for it to do any worse farther down the block

It is this simuldub season. If they get it I hope it’s not another instance of the dub being ahead on Funimation Now. I think anyone who was getting into Black Clover on Toonami jumped over there during the holiday break EDIT: The dub actually starts next Thursday on FN. So a Toonami premiere isn’t happening looks like. This one looks like a new Eureka Seven

We’ll see. The government actually having the shut down vs Friday when it was only a possibility may either make people watch more news or less depending on people’s fears , we’ll see what happens. As far as Family Guy, I’ll (or anyone can really depending on who sees the post first) keep asking so we can get that data because it’s important to know Intresting enough, my cable guide is showing old data and not the current lineup for this week.
