  1. You should look up the ancestor simulation theory. that said, if does seem like more and more big names in the science and astronomy community are tossing around simulation theories. One major argument they make is within 50 years we'll likely be able to truly simulate life inside of machines, and that raises the question of if we can do it then who's to say it hasn't been done already.
  2. Fortunately I was able to recover my lost files. Apparently whenever windows scans and repairs drives at startup it saves data that was recovered by that in a different part of the drive, I used a program called spacesniffer to scan my drive, it being a tool that's really good at giving you a visual on what's taking up space on your drives, and I was able to use that to track down my missing documents, downloads, as well as music and video folders. There was a bunch of other files mixed up in other folders that I think were needed for some other programs cause there were a few programs I tried launching on that same drive that would crash on start up. Honestly what I'm thinking of doing with that drive to make sure there's no issues at all on it is first back up all my files on it, then just wipe that partition and make a new one, deleting everything on it to insure that everything is set properly, then placing my copied files back where they belong.
  3. For some reason I just have bad luck when it comes to windows activation. Just last month I was building a new pc for my friend, him upgrading from an older i7 4790k based system to a ryzen 5 3600 one, that being a major overhaul with new cpu, motherboard, and ram. But I was able to stick in his old drives and do a clean install to insure everything with the new platform works properly and his key kept working. For me if I ever change out the motherboard (which happened 3 times in the past 8 months) it burns through my key. I think his key was originally an OEM key as well for 8.1 pro but I think back when Ms were giving everyone free upgrades to w10 his OEM key was turned into a normal key. in my experience with clean installs I've seen many people that recommend doing a full clean install of windows atleast once a year since it helps keep your pc running more fresh, getting rid of anything in the background that could be could be holding it down.
  4. Will have to look into things more tomorrow. I'm just thinking about based on the problem I had with the drive issues if maybe my windows install is bugged up or something, and reseting it with the same install won't help, not sure. I'm much better working on pc hardware than software. One thought I had though is instead of wiping my drive and risk burning through another OEM key is to dual boot another windows 10 install on the same drive with a fresh clean downloaded version of windows installed through USB, not connected to the internet so no extra background programs are installed, so I can manually do that, and if that works or doesn't then I know what to do
  5. I did have some random issue that happen less than a week ago, that I made a post about here, I feel like it wasn't until this happened that this became a problem, but I made sure to try installing these programs on other drives, and even did a clean install of windows using the reset pc setting to try fixing up any hidden issues I had because of this problem and still nothing. One thing I'm thinking of doing is a fully fresh install of windows, not just resetting it. I'm going to avoid that since I'd very likely end up burning through another windows 10 OEM key and have to buy yet another one. It's getting late and I gotta get up at 6 tomorrow, so won't follow up on this more here until tomorrow.
  6. I've tried posting this on two separate forums dedicated to tech, and in both cases I only got 1 response for ideas and when those weren't the solution the threads essentially died. I'm having an issue where inside of certain programs, pages will start breaking up and overlapping with each other. I first ran into the problem here when using this one software Protocase Designer to create a rough idea for a custom pc case, this problem always happening, sometimes I'd have to save and exit and then reopen just so I can get 30 seconds without the problem happening, it not being an immediate thing. It's not just that program there, if I tried using Runelite to play osrs the option menus would also break up and overlap (the game itself though would work perfectly fine) The only suggestion tossed my way was to use a program called DDU to uninstall all graphics drivers and do a clean install, but that didn't solve anything.
  7. The big issue I have with those is I try to avoid anything that obstructs airflow to my nose, my breathing is almost always congested or whatever in it, so impeding air flow makes it feel worse. Hell, even when it comes to taking a shower it can feel a little suffocating when I have water spraying on my head.
  8. I paid $300 in adoption fees, plus $50 for health certificate. Was told that should be ready Wednesday, so I should be able to get her then.
  9. I was able to go see the doggy earlier today, tried taking some photos but it was pretty bright so only two of them came out good. She does look more like a lab up close and in person, she even has webbed paws, that being something that's common to labs.
  10. Not sure. The only things there was to say was that she'd be a medium breed dog, the mom being around 30 pounds, the father around 50. She did say when you're there with her and look at her she has a lab look to her face. She said the other 2 from the same litter that they had (which were adopted already) had really short and smooth hair, while hers is longer and looks different from theirs.
  11. I honestly considered Mochi as a choice, but hesitated because of the association that name has.
  12. Off to a good start. Mabel is another M name that comes to mind, after the character from Gravity Falls.
  13. And don't know what to name her. Some backstory I guess. I started living on my own this month after buying a new house. Right now it's just me and my asshole cat that pisses and shits everywhere, including next to her unused litter box. I decided I'm just gonna send her back home and get two dogs (since I don't think she can handle being around dogs, and at least with dogs they can learn to not piss and shit on the floors). Here's a picture of the doggy I'll hopefully be getting. The name she comes with is Marsha, her pet description even says it's after the Brady Bunch... I'm not too fond of that name, but I'm not good at figuring out names for dogs. Unless there's something that's really catchy to me, I'd like to keep it to something that starts with an M so that it hopefully won't throw her off too much, being called by a different name (she's only a couple months old so might not matter probably). I'll be going to visit her tomorrow. Apparently it's a case where I'll have to drive over to Missouri to go see her cause apparently with Illinois the dog needs a health certificate or something, which it doesn't have. So I'll be driving over there to see her, and if I say yes (which I likely will) I'll just have to pay $50 there to get the certificate, after which I should receive her in the next day or so after. When it comes to her breed, that's something neither the lady I talked to or myself could figure out, her just listed as mixed breed because they couldn't figure it out. The lady thinks she could have had a different father from the others in the litter, so they can't tell.
  14. In my experience with DNA services like Ancestry it took about 2 years for the results to be refined to what I believe to be accurate (I got the initial results which were considerably different, it updated around a year after, and then the year after that to what I believe is mostly accurate), based on what I know about the surnames of all 4 grandparents of mine and the origins of those names, as well as getting connected to my mom's 1st cousin (my mom being adopted) her confirming things for me.
  15. Can I make my predator an overweight balding middle aged white man that drives a clunky old white van and has a mustache?
  16. Female predator? Since when? She needs to be prettied up some more to make her better waifu material
  17. Nothing but the finest, focusing on younger viewers. 11:30 - Pokemon 12:00 - Winx Club 12:30 - Sonic X 1:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1:30 - Yu-gi-oh GX 2:00 - One Piece 2:30 - Dragon Ball Z Kai You could say this schedule is made for kids.
  18. Funimation is ass. ThePirateBay and Kissanime is free.
  19. I'm looking at it more from a health perspective. Humans are omnivores, plain and simple. Hell, farming wasn't even something humans started doing until around 10,000 years ago, that being like 1/20th of the duration we've existed on this planet. That said, certain types of meat such as beef have been credited as causing medical issues earlier on than normal. And then there's pork and chicken which you have to be careful when cooking, otherwise you'll get sick. Some people experience better health after switching to vegetarian diets, but meat is still a cornerstone of the human diet. I guess if you take supplements or things of that sort even being a vegan can work out. The better thing would to also eat fish... the problem for me though is I wish I was able to eat fish, but the taste and texture is something I don't like. To be fair I came a long way from when I was younger where it'd make me wanna throw up, to now where I can eat it without gagging, but I don't like how it tastes.
  20. meh. I view going vegan as the most retarded thing a person can do. Even being a vegetarian would be considered better than vegan. Realistically I'd say being a pescatarian is probably the one that's best for you in comparison to eating meat, being a vegetarian, or being full on vegan.
