I didn't have an NES until a year or two after SNES/Genesis so I didn't get to rent games for it(pretty sure Blockbuster either had none or just a really bad selection to make room) but most of the games were cheap at Funcoland back then.

I had both, so I never felt the need to argue. I was also fat so no one ever targeted me for my taste in video games. lol
