my sister has 2 kids...a couple of years ago she came across a black widow and put it in a glass jar...and within arms reach where the kids could reach it ...

yyyeeahhh i'm not the biggest fan of kids myself but a black widow within arms length of an 8 year old? Christ no..spiders are the worst option everytime....even I think it's insane to not KILL the little fuckers on sight...

really? you're the insane one. you don't need to kill any spiders! a little bit of education will do just fine. I took all of my sister's kids and showed them The black widow. I showed them what the webs look like. and I told them if they see a spider or webbing that looks like that to stay away from it. the black widow is very shy. she will do what she can to avoid you. if you get bit it's pretty much your own fault

So, if you put your foot into your own shoe and get bit by a black widow hiding inside, it's your fault?

but to me, this goes beyond just spiders. we have to share this world with other creatures. killing for food or other necessity is one thing but we should not kill ANYTHING  for our own convenience or just because it's "scary" and we don't like it

That's nice I suppose, but I wouldn't keep venomous things in my house.

Creepy crawly things, especially venomous creepy crawlies, are subject to immediate unrestricted chemical warfare in my house.

And my big shoe.

It's honeslty just too hard to decide the purple pink toe looks awesome Avicularia purpurea I could probably

just make do with a mexican redknee though. I could get a 1/2 inch spiderling for $30 bucks and I wont have

to worry about making an arborial terarium.. or keeping the humidity too high.. Problem is theres too many

awesome looking tarantulas and they can live up to twenty years.  >_> I only want one.

I'm leaning towards the versicolor if I get one any time soon. I would get the red knee the smithi..

but when it comes to tarantulas I'm really not as afraid to handle them as a really venomous spider

like the widow.. I'm leaning towards this http://www.net-bug.net/apps/webstore/products/show/2449496

but idk..  it's a hard decision, but I have a thing for blue and black.. either that or just get the smithi, but idk

maybe if I do good with the the caribeans versicolor I'll get another.  :D  I'll need a hydrometer for sure

if I get the caribeana Versicolor though huh? One guy said people have a harder time keeping it alive.

fuck.. well I've watched some vids and done some research. All you have to do is keep a big water dish

with a rock so it doesnt accidentally drown itself, and dampin the substrate routinely. The guy that said

people have problems keeping them alive suggested a well ventilated container because if you dampin it

a lot it will get stagnate without ventilation and that's where alot of people go wrong.

Not sure if I trust myself now though.

Would you happen to know if Caribena Versicolors change colors when they are adults?

on this it says Caribena Versicolor (Former Avicularia versicolor) Is the half inch baby I get going

grow up and lose that all blue and black beautifulness? From what I've seen I think they change

colors. so if I buy a spiderling from here it's going to look like the adult spider this guy shows in this

video? That just confused the fuck out of me.  Oh well. It must be crazy as fuck to see this thing molt.

*Shudders* I'm not a fan of poisonous spiders of which there's a chance I'll actually run into. Black Widows are one of them. You can advise people to check their shoes regularly, but it's just not a habit most people have unless you live in tropical/desert areas, or Australia. The only reason I learned to do stuff like checking shoes or being cautious around areas in and outside my house that haven't been disturbed is due to locals getting fucked up by poisonous critters and making the news.
