BUU8800
Synopsis: Mankind has evolved with the sudden appearance of quirks: unique traits or abilities commonly considered superpowers. While initially rare, now 4 out of every 5 people are born with their own quirk. For most people, their quirk is simply a basic part of their everyday lives. Some, however use their quirks to commit crimes. To combat these villains, others began using their quirks for the common good, becoming professional heroes. Young Izuku Midoriya dreams of becoming a hero on par with All Might, the world's top hero. However, his hopes are dashed after learning at a young age that he is one of the increasingly few born quirkless, without a superpower. Unwilling to let go of his dream, young Izuku experiences a fateful encounter with his idol, leading him to enroll at UA Academy, the most prestigious hero-training high school in all Japan. But will he be able to accomplish his dream? And who will help him on his way? So Season 2 is expected next year. In the meantime here's the preview for the OVA out at the end of the month/early December: Edited February 19, 2018 by BUU8800
HardcoreHunter
Can't wait for this to get another season. Been reading the manga in the meantime.
BUU8800
Yup, it's great. Been caught up with Japan awhile now, and buying the English releases.
HardcoreHunter
I watched the dub on Funi. Funi's stream has somewhat negated my need to buy anime, unless I find if for super cheap. I'm up do date with the manga as well.
BUU8800
I watched the sub as it came out, waiting on the home release to check the dub, outside a clip awhile back. Favorite manga arc? Spoiler tags, obviously.
HardcoreHunter
School Trip Arc I liked the pussycats, and deku's fight was pretty great. Not to mention it introduced us to Toga getting a Bane mask.
BUU8800
Yeah, good arc to be sure, hope it gets animated too.

HardcoreHunter
So I guess they are going to spend season 2 on the festival arc and do the camp training arc as an ova?
BUU8800
Season 2 will definitely cover the Sports Festival. I'm hoping it covers the following arc too. The camp is still a ways off, but I doubt it would be covered in OVAs.

BUU8800
Season 2 to air Saturdays @ 5:30PMJST Going off that I expect subtitled episodes to be released around 7:30AM Saturday mornings here.
HardcoreHunter
Kinda a let down that it is only going to focus on the sports festival arc. I thought that arc would have taken 6 episodes max, they must be really padding it.
BUU8800
Eh, Stain was still teased before. Let's wait and see...
HardcoreHunter
I think it would be good if they could cover up at least to the training camp arc. It looks like that arc may be an OVA. Either way if season 2 covers the festival arc and the hero killer arc I'll be happy with it. If they hold off on the camp arc for a season 3, then they could easily fill a full season with that and the raid arc.

BUU8800
We're looking at a March 25th Premiere Date. So just over 7 weeks away for Season 2. Honestly a week earlier than I expected, but the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.
BUU8800
I'm now reading around certain forums that that March 25th episode is just a recap and promotion with Season 2 actually starting on April 1. Take with a grain of salt for now though.

BUU8800
Nothing confirmed yet, but I'm reading season 2 is gonna be split-cour airing in the Spring and Fall with 24 - 26 episodes. That would certainly be nice. Here's a story ANN Story Just says 2-cour though, not split.

HardcoreHunter
I hope that if they ever have to kill off a character in the future that it will be belly button guy. I think the mangaka was drunk/high when thinking of that one. Defiantly the most underused hero in the class.

mochi
a friend ended up making me watch the first 3 episodes and told me while not explicitly confirmed, this show seems to have a Gay character, and unlike OPM, they aren't a negative stereotype the character in question is apparently extremely nice, super manly(but is drawn normally) and "loves manly things" and is sweet and supportive to the main character's rival to the point of almost coming across as a possible love interest for him needless to say I wish Toonami would pick up this show
HardcoreHunter
As in outright out of the closet I haven't seen anyone in the series have a fullblown same sex relationship. The closest your friend is probably talking about are one of these two, one is flamboyant (but seems to act this way towards men and women), and the other is into manly things, so he is often hanging on the other guys or getting too pumped up over something manly which makes them uncomfortable. (height is not to scale)
HardcoreHunter
So far these are the main character interactions I have been seeing. Wish they would break tsuyu and deku out of best frog forever zone, but the artist seems to already have his mind set on ships. The one green arrow is supposed to be purple probably easy to figure out which one.
BUU8800
The only ships in My Hero Academia that really matter imo are: DekuxUraraka <3 Gran Torinoxbeing a fucking badass! Hopefully we get to that second one in the anime this year.
HardcoreHunter
I just picture him talking like Clint Eastwood from the Gran Torino movie. I think the connection was intentional. Cranky old man set in his ways having to set a young asian kid on the right path.....Oh no...This is giving some major death flags for him in the future. BUU8800
We're just 2 weeks out now from the recap episode and 3 from Season 2 proper. Here's another character promotional video, featuring everyone's favorite little pervert and navel laser.
BUU8800
Here we go, another promo: So I guess technically the recap episode next week marks the beginning of Season 2! MAL still lists the series as beginning April 1 though, so not sure how that's gonna go. But yeah, either way we're really close now! Sandstone
This is one of those gems from recent years that actually left me wanting more.... like way more. I'm excited to see the second season. Everything is well done in this anime, it's not just one or two things like in most shows that are pushed out today. It has a clear vision for a fantasy world, interesting and well developed characters, the main character is actually likeable whilst still dealing with emotional issues. It just tickles me. Sandstone
mochi[/member] I'm not sure what character they are referring to. While there are plenty of supportive male friends in this show to Izuku, I can't think of any that stand out as obviously gay while fitting the aformentioned characteristics. Perhaps he/she was referring to Eijirou? I don't see him as being gay, just a pretty honorable dude, I would definitely say he would probably be very supportive of gay males though as he admires manly men (as long as they are honorable). If anything the gay character in the show would be Yuuga, who will probably irritate you even though he's not that bad of a guy. He reeks of stereotypical flamboyance, I mean he shoots a laser out of his belly button and wears a costume that Elton John would be jealous of. HardcoreHunter
I think the fact that they are showing a recap episode on a 12 episode season that isn't even a year old is joke enough. Recap DEKU DIDN'T HAVE POWERS! And then what? HE GOT POWERS! Then what happened? WENT TO HERO SCHOOL! And? HE GOT IN AND MADE FRIENDS! Anything else? BAD GUYS ATTACKED BUT ALL MIGHT BEAT EM! BUU8800
It's just Jump pushing to the extreme, I hope/assume. And even if it's split-cour we really, really need at least 24 episodes this time.
HardcoreHunter
We'll kinda need 24 episodes just to do the festival arc and Training cat team 6 arc. That isn't even counting the hero killer arc which could be 6 episodes on it's own.
HardcoreHunter
Might work out like Festival - 6 training - 10 hero killer -
BUU8800
24 episodes, paced properly, should at least get us passed Stain. The real issue is... Ending with the Pussycats leaves Bakugo captured by the villains, effectively a cliffhanger ending. But going passed that means they'd literally have to do All Might vs AFO, easily the highpoint of the series to this point. I'm just not sure if they could cover roughly 75 chapters worth of material in 24 episodes without it feeling rushed. Considering the slow pacing season one had I don't see it, but who knows?
