Suspended animation? That's awfully convenient. So his body doesn't need to eat or drink or go to the bathroom no matter how long he's in the past? Or is it more like a coma that he goes into? If it's more like that then the amount of time he could spend in the past without coming back would be much more limited.

It would've made a lot more sense if Takamichi returned to same time he left, but oh well.  The show wanted to maintain this date to date time travel formula.

So we did find out who pushed him. But, why did he try and kill Takemichi though? Doesn't really make sense to me when he had not been involved with any of them for so long that they'd suddenly go after him. Just serves no purpose really.

Doesn't make sense "yet", hehe. While he seemingly hadn't been involved with any of them for a long time since we're dealing with time travel, even though the push happened first to throw him back in the first place given that this is a time travel thing I'm expecting some

The train incident was presumably done without any influence from time travel, since it was the first thing that happened.  Still don't know why that caused time travel in the first place.  Anyway, maybe Takamichi was seen as a loose end by the gang, but that seems like a stretch.
