Recluse alert.  Damn his room looks worse than mine!

Wait, it was his middle school girlfriend who died, he's not still with her?  That's sad, but not THAT sad.  And it was just randomly said on the news.  And he doesn't seem THAT broken up about it, either.

Maybe you should've used the future knowledge to avoid this.

Damn they didn't just get beat up but have to work for them?  That escalated quickly.  They really fucked up.

Did we have to go back to middle school?  Couldn't be high school at least?

The main character is 14. Pretty much a freshman in high school in US terms.

How do you totally forget getting your butts kicked like that. They beat him so hard they gave him amnesia or something? Cuz that's not something I think you would easily forget.

Seemed like he was stun locked, but you'd think he would snap out of it before he could get his ass kicked again. 🤣

And so the timeline is already being altered.

We'll not let any Hinata die on our watch, damn it!

I wonder if he'll actually tell her everything.

LOL he didn't know who her brother was?

LOL so he tells the little brother but not her?

Well, seems like some sort of effect just happened.

Back in the present??

The grown up brother saved him wow.

So does he need to be into an almost certain death situation in order to time travel again? If so that's about the weirdest method of time travel I've ever seen, other than maybe the microwave thing they use in Steins;Gate. Oh and I guess there's the hot tub time machine movie, though I haven't actually ever watched that.

It's good I tells ya

I hope so.  The combination of time travel and delinquents (was hilarious seeing those tags on MAL) doesn't sound too appealing haha.

In the "current day" without the bleached hair, he looks a lot like the main character in the giant robot anime Captain Earth, even has the same shirt.

iirc it doesn't really lean too heavily in either direction. The delinquent stuff is just the backdrop for the bad choices/time travel stuff, but it's not overdone or overly contrived.

That's right, I keep forgetting Japanese high school is just 3 years.  I do wish they were older, but this isn't too bad.

yeah, i had the same reaction throughout while watching the 1st time - who the hell do these little tykes think they are. There's no culture that I'm aware of where kids get hardened that young except maybe India or North Korea. I think these characters are an homage to the bosozoku.

Well that is good.  When I saw the promo and read the synopsis, I thought this would be more like a second chance type of thing, and the whole main story would be Takamichi going through this part of his life again to try to save Hinata and also improve his own life.  But it looks like there will be multiple time jumps.  But too many time jumps and it will just turn into fuckery haha.

Well some parts of the U.S. unfortunately where gangs are really bad an entrenched, though we'd prefer not to think about it.  But I thought Japan was supposed to be mostly nonviolent with a low crime rate. 😄
