  1. 1. What do you do with the drawers they give you in a hotel room

    • Use them, of course!

    • People actually open those?

I also inspect for the complementary Bibles just to check, but if I get too many souvenirs, I’ll put them in the drawer.

I can't remember the last time I actually opened one of those up. I don't use them because I pretty much live right out of the suitcase [ don't want to accidently leave anything behind ].

Although part of me is vaguely tempted to open one of those room safes and leave something weird inside just to see what happens.

And I think we know who’s leaving them.

Ya know, I applied for a part time job as a maintenance man for one near me for some side cash in while in school again...

I was convinced they were a front, until I found out the Owners are two old people who bought an old chain hotel location that was going out of business, and basically gave up on any maintenance other than replacing light bulbs and vacuuming the lobby

This is my main issue

The one time I was staying somewhere for a week I tried the drawers, but I kept going to my bag looking for stuff instead of the weird furniture I had placed it in

when my grandparents would take us to disney or wherever as kids, my grandmother always made a point of unloading the suitcases into the dresser first thing. I forget exactly what she said, but she basically explained to kid me that the hotel room is our home for the week and we should live like it.

the subsequent 20+ years, I just lived out of the suitcase. could never be bothered to unload the suitcase upon arrival and would either just have a pile of dirty clothes on the floor for the week or somehow distinguish which side of the suitcase is clean vs dirty. as a young adult/adult, I had no one to impress and wasn't going to do it just for myself.

so fast forward we were away a couple weeks ago and when we finally got to our room that first night, there were three dresser drawers and three of us and I thought of my grandmother and in the span of a whopping minute everyone had all their clothes in their own drawer for their and it was done and we had a whole family trip without living like total slobs.

I typically don't. I prefer to keep my clothes in my bag. If however, the bag fits, I'll jam it in there... but that's usually because there's not much table/counter space and I refuse to put my stuff on the floor.

i hate packing so i dont unpack, lest i have to pack again.

Get what i need, wear it, put it in a trash bag when i shower, then awkwardly stuff the garbage bag into the suitcase when i leave.

anything like meds or electronics go in a little tote and they can stay there...putting stuff in drawers is how you leave shit behind....

hence the drugs
