The time frame when stop signals were first employed is not relevant.  At its very best, it's a tangent.  The sigals are here now.  Deal with it in a mature and responsible fashion or just end up experienncing all that happens when you fail to press the brakes.

As it actually turned out however, the action he deliberately chose to take had resulted in a huge increase in carbon emissions.
