You RUINED the food!

Skinner sounds like he's full of crap.  You literally made the death drug, dude.

Funny they mention the angel's trumpet.

Spoiler

Something that crazy comes up in Bleach later on.

I'm not sure the arctic ice cap will be melting that fast or completely, but whatever.  Countries and companies are already planning for the less ice and thus more sea traffic availability.  Never mind that it shouldn't be happening like this in the first place.  Might as well take advantage of the mess we made!  Or well, that oil companies made.  I didn't pick what sorts of power and propulsion would win out over a hundred years ago.  Electric and steam-powered cars were both there since the beginning.

And of course the last episode was a wild goose chase that didn't progress towards catching Skinner.

What is Lex Luthor doing here?

Now that he mentions it, a shoe featuring this team going on missions would be a lot better if it didn't involve this stupid doomsday plot.

I still think it would've been a hilarious twist if the drug wasn't actually deadly and Skinner just did all this to stir up shit and see how the world would react, but lab monkeys already died.  Though there is a slim possibility it's deadly to monkeys and not humans, but that's unlikely.

So you're telling me the pollution in the future is going to get worse?!  Every city will be constantly overcast?  Come on now.

Insensitivity... disorder?  That would be bad if something was seriously wrong with your body and you wouldn't know it.

Oh please, Chrissy.  Don't be that melodramatic and silly.

So, add this island, and the people on North Sentinel Island, along with uncontacted tribes in South America, among random members of the general population who didn't take Hapna, to those who will survive if the cure isn't found.

Sincere and pure... but he's a pure EVIL mad scientist.

Wants to be found... that's a nice thought but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Their boss was involved?  So she definitely isn't happy about what Skinner did, then.  It's personal and professional betrayal on top of everything else.

That girl knows Chrissy.  Sister?  Well, maybe not lol.

We are over halfway through with this show and I just don’t think it’s gonna find its footing. At their meeting, they claim they are back to square one. Buddy, you haven’t left square one yet. Every single episode has been a meaningless side quest that has amounted to nothing by the end of the episode. It’s become increasingly apparent that in the final 2-3 episode there will just be some big deux ex machina to wrap everything up hastily.

Some may argue, it’s the journey. Sure, that works for some shows, where i give a crap about the cast. I just tonight learned the black guys name is Doug because it was on the monitor. That’s how little impact anyone in the cast has.

The first few episodes of this show should have been spent building the team and making us care about them. We started with most of the team already formed and just Axel left to be recruited. Current episodes seem to be attempting to develop the cast, but it’s a bit late in the game for that. I guess we get Chris backstory next week, but there will only be 5 episodes left for it to settle in. Doug and Axel will get even less, assuming Axel has more depth to his character than “jail bad”.

This is definitely a contender for one of Watanabe’s worst projects.

Yeah.  I would've never guessed this was by Watanabe if I wasn't informed beforehand.  We've got a STUPID doomsday plot and the show is starting to come off as preachy and pretentious, at this point, in addition to all the issues you mentioned.  I definitely won't watch this show again, and I'm only sticking it out this far, for completionist purposes.

It once again bears asking how much influence DeMarco had on the storytelling, or if this was a case of "too many cooks in the kitchen" and he's not the sole object of blame.  Visually, the show is hardly the best of the season, with the best outright animation crown going to either Yaiba: Samurai Legend or Gundam GQuuuuuuX.  Storywise, the show is all over the place, failing to bring together everything into a cohesive whole.

It's another L for Adult Swim Originals.

I’ll give it some credit, until this weeks episode, it was at least visually engaging even if the plot is spinning its wheels. Most Toonami originals spin wheels AND are boring and lifeless. At least in this our cast is doing something.

I hope this weeks episode was an outlier because it was a return to form for a Toonami original, with minimal action animation and the cast kinda just wandering about for 22 minutes. I’d safely assume next week will have a lot of save Chris from her captors action, so maybe that’s where this weeks budget ended up.

There are some ways this could go and redeem itself, have the team fail and everyone dies, reveal Skinner was actually that guy in the homeless camp that looked exactly like him, but I doubt it will have the balls to do any of that, and will instead hamfist some quick fix for the final episode.

Last week I was frustrated at how they keep failing to move the needle and while you might argue this episode didn’t do much, it feels like some actual progress to me. I think with the Chris situation and the revelations about how Hapna may have been developed we’ve moved toward endgame but I suppose it could be a bunch of nothing, particularly the Chris stuff.

It was obvious Hersch was involved with Skinner but why does she see Axel as the crucial piece? Hopefully not some BS that isn’t well explained.
