smiradenius Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 How many times do you do that every year and get a successful result? So, when you do that and then, the car doesn't start, does that mean you're stupid or does it indicate that the car is not functioning correctly? When you know the answer to that, look around and see that it all applies to everything else, as well. Quote

What makes any statement of fact stupid? It's not a metaphor. When you open a spigot and water doesn't come out, it's still safe to assume it's because the spigot is inoperable. That applies equally to all things at all times. Quote

André Toulon Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 This has got to be the most pathetic attempt at saving face I've ever seen. Why do subject yourself to my antics so enthusiastically....look man, basic current tech is beyond your comprehension, just take the L bro. But this does make me think of a really interesting scenario that has me thinking. When you flick your lighter, and it fails ...how many more times do you do it hoping to get results. I actually had a different, more insulting scenario but I decided it wasn't worth the possible action. 3 Quote

I'm just going to sit here and wait until eventually, you'll post about what a big rip off Geek Squad is, after your computer starts blue screening. It happens to everyone sooner or later and it's because there's no such thing as a one hundred percent reliable machine. Quote

scoobdog Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Anyway, since your example is kind of dumb, I propose another: If 9 out of 10 times you post a picture of your lovingly prepared dinner and it comes to life on your 2MP digital camera's screen, but... ...on the tenth time, your camera "forgets" how to use the flash right and it comes out lifelessly grey... ...does that mean you're stupid or indicate that camera has a grudge against you? 1 Quote

Actually, they don't. As long as your properly maintain your computer by updating the operating system and drivers, periodically monitor and repair the hard drive, and make sure your CPU is in a clean and relatively cool environment - chances are you'll never encounter a blue screen of death. So, you could say that a computer failure is actually the computer user's fault. Quote

That's part of what killed my first two computer back in the late 90's. The techie said the upgrades were not at all compatible with the hardware. 2 Quote

My current computer is more than eight years old with no upgrades. I don't use it online, which of course blocks those upgrades. It still works like new. The CPU is not accessible to the user. It has to be fully disassembled by a techie to be cleaned. 1 Quote
