CountFrylock
Raised $200/5000 I appreciate everyone whose donated so far just know every bit counts and it’s going towards Paying the bills plus buying food which is something we desperately need right now supplies are low and I hate that it’s come to this this is my hail Mary play because my mothers already sold off as much she could for us to stay afloat and they only helped us for so long if this fails then I don’t know what we’ll do we were barely able to pay the last electric bill thanks to a friend sending us money at the last minute however since he’s struggling just like we are i can’t count on him to come in at the last minute to keep our power on again.

If I reach it cool but its not something I think is likely at all GoFundMe asked me for a goal and given my situation that seemed like the best one but again it’s more there as a marker of the best case scenario rather than the more likely scenario shit just my odds of reaching 1K are probably akin to the odds of winning the mega Millions jackpot lottery The odds of me reaching 5K are even far beyond those chances due to my lack of any major online presence I don’t have a lot of followers on any website so my reach is quite small Edited October 10 by CountFrylock

André Toulon
Have you tried food resource centers in your area. You can spam those each month and the one sponsored by our VA here even has pet food and select meds. People always donate food to the VA and they would redistribute it to low income people. I used to volunteer there and they get good shit, but give it away because they have food. Also, many of these places will help you out financially if you have proof of income....or lack thereof. I don't want to ask what state you're in but if you have a drop of native blood in you, you can get financial assistance as well. While I'm just spit balling shit they have here, I'm willing wager a Google can lead you in the right direction. It takes a bit of proactivity, and can almost feel like a job but it can help prop you up if you have a monthly guarantee for food and basic necessities. Oh, and your local free clinic may also have resources for the pup. If you're already doing these things, just disregard the post but there are places to turn to even if you already get government aid, so you're not exactly shackled by what they think you deserve... CountFrylock
There’s food resources but gotta find someone to drive us since we don’t have a reliable means of transportation right now that’s the obstacle standing in our way At least we have a friend looking out for us here and he gave the go ahead to take what we want from his fridge especially since some of that might go bad before he can return There wasn’t much but I appreciated the gesture

CountFrylock
Social security interview scheduled midway through November Other than that…not much to discuss Might need to use the pawn shop again before then just to make it to November 15th when the important interview is suppose to take place However getting that stuff back later could be difficult if this social security stuff doesn’t lead to anything
André Toulon
Since I saw you're in Alvarado, and I'm vaguely familiar with that area, I did some poking around for you. There are far more resources centers than pawn shops there, so while I understand the lack of vehicle thing, I'd almost bet if you contact one and explain your situation, they may come to you. In TX terms, Alvarado is pretty small and with so many places willing to help, I'm sure one or a few would love to have you and your mother as recipients....even if they have to come out to assist, especially with a disability. If any are funded by the gov, the more people they help the more money they get. So win, win. And without spending money on food and other necessities, you can work on getting your stuff out of pawn. I think it's at least worth a shot.
CountFrylock
Bills are the main problem here because that’s one thing that can’t be put on hold They’ve made that clear in the past So I might have to sell everything I can I don’t have anything really valuable but we’ve already used the pawn shop and I don’t want them to have anything else because it’s unlikely we’ll be able to buy it all back The pawn shop wasn’t something my mother wanted to use but she had no other choice I don’t want her to be pushed into that again so soon Edited October 29 by CountFrylock

They have other resources than food. They will do bill assistance too. When I first moved to OK, all I had was about 3k. That took care of us for a few months but after that, granny told us to hit up these resources. Didn't have to pay anything back, and it took a lot of pressure off. They even paid to get the kids mother teeth fixed Some of them will pay your light bill and some even your rent (don't know if you have rent). You're losing nothing by contacting them. As I've stated, I've passed through there a few times...never really stopped other than for gas but it looks a lot like ranch land. Most of those people are wealthy and avoid heavy taxation by donating and volunteering. They would be more than happy to slap you with a light bill payment and then claim it at the end of the year as altruism. But I can't make you do anything...I'm just saying that you're tapping a shallow well here, you see that for yourself, but these things can possibly help you get above water....if that's your goal. Since this seems like something you just plain won't do, I won't bring it up again...but it's there, and all you have to do is expend a bit of your time. Worst case scenario, they come pick you up for church. Edited October 29 by cyberbully

katt_goddess
I'm going to give a couple of helpful bits of advice on this. First, seriously re-read and think about the assistance list that buddy put up because that's not just food, it's bill assistance. I realize that sometimes it's easier psychologically to ask faceless people on the internet for help instead of having to see people in real life and maybe feel that they are judging you right to your face. They aren't. They wouldn't be in a position of assistance if they were there to be dicks about it. Second, maybe a decent breakdown on your gofundme page as to just what is going to be going towards what so that it isn't 'just' 6K, it's x for mortage, x for water/sewer/gas, x for food. You don't have to be super specific about how much exactly is any given thing but a general range will help people make better sense of just where that desired money is going to go towards. It also shows that yes, you actually are aware of how everything breaks down and its not just a case where someone pissed away what they had and have no idea how to continue or even worse, someone hoping to scam people for 6k just for the lols [ not saying you are but saying there ARE those types and they ruin it for everyone ].
CountFrylock
I’m not expecting $6K period or even $1K It just came to mind so if I had to. I’d tell people ignore the goal. That’s just the number that popped into my head for what I’d like I have someone assisting us with all our bills they always come in clutch but lately they’ve been a bit behind and bought something from us which they didn’t pay for I’m not expecting this to solve all our problems Shit if I never got another donation we’d still be very happy because it gave us a few weeks of relief and that’s better than nothing I didn’t start this gofundme expecting everyone to pay for everything I started it because we needed to buy time time for my mothers interview with social security and time for our best friend to get his stuff sorted out we only got this far because we had someone assisting us with our utility bills and we assisted him when times were tough for him I wasn’t sure how much time I needed to stall for And I still don’t Not gonna hold that against him but that’s why everything about this seems poorly thought out I have no clue what’s going on with him and since he’s done more than enough to earn our trust previously I just had to believe he needed more time so I’ve been giving him that Edited November 14 by CountFrylock
