1pooh4u
Yup case dismissed. at the end of the day $$ and the fact that it was another’s responsibility to make sure the gun was safe, that got him off.

Enough money for a law team good enough to find out that the prosecutor and police screwed up. Let the civil suits begin! scoobdog
It was overreach from the beginning. This should have been handled in civil court where Baldwin’s role as a producer could be litigated, and he does have civil liability for not maintaining a safe workplace.

Jman
Given it was Arizona, I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecutor was some GOP sycophant who wanted to jail Baldwin as revenge for all those insults to Der Furher. Either way, they screwed up badly on a technicality, and a good lawyer would have spotted the thread a mile away.

Was she directly hired by Baldwin? I kind of think that would have been a more important point in his prosecution.
lupin_bebop
I figured this would happen. The thing they could get him on was negligent homicide. Even then, it was going to be a flimsy case. There IS a difference between criminal charges and civil charges here. Baldwin's civil charges might stick, on account of maybe...MAYBE not maintaining safe workplace standards as a producer. Even then, it's a stretch that things would be concrete. Given all the moving parts (and the fact that the Props and Effects Departments that control them) here, I could possibly see one or some of the crew being held responsible, but that's partially due to money being a factor. Even if it wasn't, they would have to be the ones you'd be pointing the finger at. I DO understand the impulse to pin Baldwin for it, but it wasn't going to work from the jump, in my opinion.
