Jman
Well they can’t air Scavengers Reign, it moved to Netflix where it’s getting its teeth beaten in by Hajime no Ippo. And Suicide Squad Isekai seems like a no go as well. 1
Sketch
What a waste and it’s all but guaranteed it won’t get renewed beyond whatever initial order it had. WBD really doesn’t know what to do with CN.

Toonamiguy321
It should premier at 7pm on Fridays after Rewind. Thats where they parked Superman reruns. It is moronic to put this shit at midnight on Saturdays. UWE had Genndy appeal and Superman had a home on Toonami in the past. Not great reasons to stick them at midnight, but it’s something. This is modern day kids slop, has no place on the block. 1
MCPissPants
We're getting baby shit? Really. That's so wild. Bluey on Toonami is inevitable. 2
Jman
Also, you notice how over the last ten years, shows that have pro wrestling in them seem to be really focused on the kids set? Boxing and MMA have that teen/adult demo down so when a show has pro wrestling as a theme, you’re thinking “this is definitely for the kids.” All the Jon Moxley death matches in the world can’t seem to change that perception, especially with Netflix having a metric ton of underground MMA and fighting anime. Any way you slice it, this is a bad fit for the block.

Jman
I blame a lot of people. Zaslav for dumping Reign on Netflix where it’s getting its face caved in, Suicide Squad Isekai being too high profile, and this creator for just making me wish they dubbed Tiger Mask W.

Because Demarco is an idiot who doesn’t know anything outside of Shonen Jump. One Piece, Naruto and Demon Slayer are all kids shows. Many of our past mainstays like Dr Stone, AssClass, Food Wars and MHA are all kids shows too. Zom 100 is a rare example of Toonami getting a series from a seinen manga. PokeNirvash
And yet all of them are rated TV-PG or higher because of different standards here in the States. Which I prefer to just slapping a TV-Y7FV on everything, no matter how bloody the demon-slayings or uncomfortable the foodgasms get.

It's fine to say "these shows were targeted at kids," but pretty much every adult in Japan knows what One Piece is, and a ton of them read it every week. A lot of series "made for kids" wind up being big crossover hits. Personally I don't really give a damn what the target audience of a series is, so long as it's good. Whether they've found an older audience or not doesn't change that they were made to appeal to young boys. You aren't watching Dragon Ball and thinking "Yeah, you gotta be voting age to really appreciate this."

And that’s fine, I never said adults aren’t allowed to like things targeted at kids. But it is important to remember most of this content is written with children in mind. Jman
There’s a difference between “family show”, “family show with some objectionable content”, and “strictly for the kids”. Fight Girl looks to be Category 3. It’s certainly not -
Sketch
It's PG so I don't think it's strictly for kids but it might not appeal to adults.
PokeNirvash
So basically it's for kids but with LGBT-positive themes and the occasional swear word.

When you put it like that it sounds even lamer trying to compete with stuff like Kengan Ashura and Kinnikuman.
