It finally rained decently around here this morning.

But I still found a bunch more dead baby birds in the grass yesterday. Too hot, air gets gross.

Tornado to the SW of us, Funnel cloud went over us & dropped a tornado to the SE of us.  Tornadoes near O'Hare & Midway.  The storms developed really quickly & ABC was warning that it would happen.

The lightning to the south of us put on a real show about an hour ago.  Now this comes across -

My phone weather apps have been throwing alerts hourly since Sunday.  The expected actual temp (not "feels like") is 100 today and 101 tomorrow.

Human-caused climate change, yes. It underlies everything going on in the world's weather. But there's got to be additional reasons to explain the difference between this year and last year. 

High pressure systems over the Atlantic Ocean, leading to reduced trade winds over the sea surface and less pollution/Saharan dust have to to be playing roles.

i went to bed thinking 'eh, we might get some rain, probably lose power, since 'they' put it out there'. 

finally checked my 'non-frightening-less fear mongering-and more science' site; i'm a little concerned.

TS Hillary did pass directly overhead, but it didn't cause any damage in the flats.

I’m under a Tropical Storm warning until 11pm because of Idalia. We got a pretty bad thunderstorm last night, but just non-stop rain so far today. I think it’s finally supposed to stop around 7pm.

lost power for about 9 hours. woke up to blue skies and beautiful weather...

and i had already cancelled the market. *sigh* 

not a lot of damage, at all. some broken limbs that had to come down.
