PhilosipherStoned
Pretty sure it was yesterdays news last month if even. I think it's pretty cool, but AI and bot technology have always been interesting to me. Edited June 5, 2023 by PhilosipherStoned

Icarus27k
True story: a schoolteacher once made fun of me for using a typewriter. Hey, he said he required the paper to be typed, but didn't specify on what. Edited June 5, 2023 by Icarus27k

I don’t care what anybody says. I still think those are cool. Also, I’m with you. I don’t feel the need to use ChatGPT or any other AI writing app for writing. I write my own stuff. Always have, too. ChatGPT as a novelty for writing text messages or doing middle school homework is certainly yesterdays news. But the more implicit uses of the technology that are not as popularized by media are certainly nifty. Myself in particular use GitHub's Copilot, which is built off of GPT3, and it definitely speeds up my coding. I no longer spent as much time doing more monotonous stuff like writing trivial functions, methods, etc. when I code. But yes I agree, what you see of ChatGPT in media is certainly over blown haha Edited June 6, 2023 by atomicinumatt

Insipid
The next step is only smarter AI. Sorry, this "trend" has been going on for decades now and is never gonna go away. Soon, NPCs in video games won't settle on the same stock phrases. Anyway, if you're into independent foreign language studies, ChatGPT does an excellent job explaining grammatical concepts and providing example sentences. It's much easier than having to resort to google to search for answers. And not only that, but you can practice your foreign language writing skills with ChatGPT.
