Jman Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/discovery-warnermedia-merger-close-warner-bros-discovery-1235200983/ How this will affect the networks is anyone's guess, but Discovery Plus stuff is coming to HBO Max soon, so...there's that. 1 Quote
PokeNirvash Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I blame them for that pipe being censored in the Lupin promo. 1 Quote
Blatch Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Corporate mergers are icky, but given that this one is more horizontal integration, maybe it'll turn out better? Quote

Broadcast versions of JoJo for instance censor cigarettes while the Netflix version leaves them untouched. 2 Quote
MasqueradeOverture Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Ah got it. I just automatically assumed any version for US air (while maybe not uncut) would have something as dumb as that without the mosaic at least. Plus I thought shit like Jojo doing it was because Jotaro was underage and actively smoking it, not a blanket strike against everything including paraphernalia. 1 1 Quote
Poof Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I think it will be better for them to be owned by this newly formed pure media and entertainment company rather than a telecommunications conglomerate. 2 Quote
Seight Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 I really actually don't know if it helps or hurts Adult Swim that most of what they show is so different from everything else Discovery has. 1 Quote
OwlChemist81 Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Inb4 MLP: Friendship Is Magic on Toonami... Spoiler I'm KIDDING, Y'ALL!! 🤣 Quote
ben0119 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 I don't get what the hell the Discovery brands have to do with WarnerMedia, though. Then again, Mars also makes dog food in addition to candy bars. Quote
