IIRC that’s a Japanese thing.  Broadcast versions of JoJo for instance censor cigarettes while the Netflix version leaves them untouched.

Ah got it. I just automatically assumed any version for US air (while maybe not uncut) would have something as dumb as that without the mosaic at least.

Plus I thought shit like Jojo doing it was because Jotaro was underage and actively smoking it, not a blanket strike against everything including paraphernalia.
