We only saw the training start during those episodes. So I guess that will be shown in flashbacks or left to the imagination.

They look about as similar as the real and fake Straw Hat crews. Plus Fairy Tail has more realistic anatomy for the characters. Fairy Tail doesn't have the best production values, especially the first anime and ESPECIALLY the last anime.
