André Toulon Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I'm watching my news app and apparently this happened......I'll look more into this, but now I'm thinking.......I know how to contact police if I need them, but other than 911, how do you call an ambulance?
mthor Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Yeah the phone alert woke me up like 3 times to tell me it was back on, and I didn't even know it was off. Here, you can call the regular police line and get an ambulance or fire trucks, but this is a small town. I don't know what you'd have to do in a more urban setting. Edit:Actually, here you can call the firehouse directly, too. Since it's all volunteer, you can call there for an ambulance as well.

lupin_bebop Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Yeah. The 911 system was down for a window of time. Wasn't too long, though. Trump fucking with the system. That protocol for 911 (for the cellular side) was designed by my dad and his team way back when. That shit won't be down long. It's designed to self correct in the case of disaster and flood of 911 calls. Updates to the system are quick, too.
