Nintendo leaks

Why do you over embellish all of your threads...

I mean it seems it was a rather big leak if any of the shit that's "possible" is actually possible....But even the shit that is claimed to have been leaked is hardly EVERYTHING.

I mean 64 and GC source code is pretty big, but you probably could have just asked them for Wii source code.

I'm really just fucking with you mochi. I know you don't come to df often but I was called on my hyperbolic posting a couple days ago.

He doesn't, he's just naturally overcritical and contrarian. Does that to pretty much everyone.

Nintendo was losing their shit when those Gen II pokemon beta leaks happened. I don't think they would give their source codes up willingly. Also the emulator devs can only use it as a cheat sheet, and can't just copy paste code or they can get in shit.

I already knew what this was about so I failed to even notice OP didn't even source it....But here you go....I mean

https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/nintendo-has-reportedly-suffered-a-significant-legacy-console-leak/

People have been pretty much completely hacking the n64 for years.. With shit like everdrive cartridges and dev consoles designed to specifically manipulate source/ game code being mass produced. I hardly see why this is news you're right.. Nintendo always tries to incorporate a weak ass "copyright protection" in all their tech that somebody ends up figuring out how to bypass within like the first 4 or 5 months of release..

Flashcarts just emulate a functioning cartridge that holds roms. Emulators emulate the console itself. N64 is pretty much a mess when it comes to emulation. Even the games it plays well with still have glitches. Dolphin/Gamecube and Wii on the other hand runs as well if not better than original hardware for most games.  N64 is just really hard to work on.

There's still dev consoles that were designed to actually exploit and create games with the n64's own source code.. This is one of them.. Not sure if it's what I'm thinking of.. An actual small video games studio developed something like this for their video game devs to use at work even. Of course nintendo was never happy about this, and I think they may have even tried a lawsuit.. All I'm trying to say is I'm surprised a full source code leak of the n64 console or any nintendo system actually surprises anyone.

Dude, 64 was hard to program for...It most certainly is not difficult to recreate what was already created.  I have a friend who can already recreate them without fail....

As far as emulators....I have no idea what you mean.....You can literally get them on your phone......The issues you are alluding to are about 7-8 years old

At this point few games have game breaking bugs in the n64 emulator, it's mostly lots of audio and graphical glitches. There are still dozens of games that are broken or have major issues on emulation. If your friend has made an emulator that is 100% compatible with every n64 game then they should go to to the project 64 people, because he's probably a decade ahead of them.

for a better explanation, Nintendo suffered a Massive Hack and 2terabytes of data were stolen

among what was taken, include

  1. several powerpoint presentations giving insight into the Wii's Development
  2. schematics and notes of the dev for the n64, the ds, the gamecube and the wii
  3. the source code for all those consoles as well
  4. and some or maybe even ALL the demos for games that were shown at Spaceworld '99
