If it makes you feel better, I have to listen to Daniel Tiger's neighborhood every fucking day. Now I find myself singing at random intervals throughout the day

My favorite part is the tiger singing:

RIIIDE ALLOOOONG!!

I guarantee you do, unless you have extraordinarily shitty antenna. They have it all the nursing homes I've been to.

I wasn't at all implying hacking is what your job entails, although implying that you hacking each other being at all possible might have been been a bit presumptuous.

i do not blame you at all. you've done more work over the past few weeks than probably 95% of this board.

I’m....so tired......

fucking boomers, man

I realized after I posted that, that I am of the very much older millennial, while you are significantly younger than me, so even though I grew up with a stereo, you might not have for all I know.

BACK IN MY DAY WE HAD TO BUY OUR MUSIC ON THESE SHITTY DISCS CALLED CDS THAT WOULD GET SCRATCHED UP AFTER EVERY USE SO THE MUSIC WOULD SKIP LIKE IT WAS HAVING A SEIZURE, SO WE HAD TO BUY A REPAIR KIT TO FIX THE SKIP, BUT THE SCRATCH WAS STILL PHYSICALLY AND VISIBLY THERE. AND THE PLASTIC CASES SHATTER JUST BY LOOKING AT THEM.

Ahh ... I remember my first CD. It was Ricky Martin, Living La Vida Loca. I tried to fucking rewind it like a cassette tape.

I am a millenial too, the ones called echo boomers from '81-85 the last ones to not be raised with computer immersion.

"Echo boomer"? I'm also from that period, I thought we were called Xennials because we cross into both gen-x and millennial.

Same but he knows the tape game.

I've told this story several times but I wore out a Billboard top hits of the 60s cassette when I was like 5 listening to Louie Louie over and over again. Pretty sure I also wore out a Beach Boys tape. This might explain a few things about me

Gotta give you respect for not being like me and completely writing off music from older generations just because they were from older generations. Lordy I was st00pid.

I listened to a lot of DiMucci, Orbison and other related stuff. First CD I ever got was Green Day's Dookie. Last album of theirs I ever listened.

There were a bunch of songs on them but that one song did something to me man. Gave me a huge hard on for garage rock, punk, lo do, and other underproduced indie stuff that still persists today. Mix that with my love of overprodued 80s Euro fluff and Dream pop/shoegaze love and you have one weird kid

You had a choice not to listen to the golden oldies?!

i'll give you an example of a song i downloaded last month of some of the kind of style that i love. i'm all over the place but stuff like this would have been my jam if i was a kid (didn't have this particular song as a kid but the point stands)

Pretty solid. Vocals are little raw for me but overall good. I am more of a post rock guy these days with some indie rock thrown in. That and old old stuff.
