I think the Dark Territory has humans too, but they aren't *ahem* white. The mage girls, dark knights, and pugilists all look human.

DangerMouse Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Heh, she really did take all the magic resources of the area. Though that's a really weird world mechanic.

It was alluded to before many times. Like when Alice and Kirito couldn't make anymore stakes to scale the wall after night. And this canyon whatever thing never gets sunlight and has very little magic to begin with.
OwlChemist81 Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Y'all might find this interesting! It's kinda like the SAO version of the Demon Slayer podcast, but it streams at ~7 PM PST/10 PM EST on SUNDAY nights! 2
mochi Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 fun side note, fans insist that SAO wasn't inspired by .hack but the author's Penname is the name of a character from .hack 1

And Reki cites his inspiration as old school MMORPG games. https://www.t-ono.net/biographies/reki-kawahara-川原-礫-brief-biography.html And your image is broken. Edited March 8, 2020 by ben0119

From what people say, the original SAO web novel was almost finished by the time .hack aired. No way anything was borrowed. Also who cares about .hack, it was super boring =P

Also who cares about .hack, it was super boring =P Yes that is true, which is what I have kept pointing out. I enjoyed the character and mood and atmosphere stuff of .hack, but yeah it was not ACTION-PACKED lol. Have you read that biography before? Some funny and interesting things. Reki was going to be a mangaka, but decided it was too much bullshit to deal with. SAO was the first thing he ever wrote. Possibly explains a lot! He's a fan of Clone Wars. Maybe he could take inspiration from its writing quality? His daily schedule consists of waking up at 10, at 1 PM he rides a bike for 22 miles from Tokyo to Saitama and gets back later in the afternoon, showers, then plays games until he goes to sleep. What a life! But at least he is getting exercise! Suguha was originally going to be flat-chested, but his editor suggested she have big boobs. Quite a catastrophe was avoided there indeed! I would hate to live in the alternate reality with flat Suguha!
