Is [as]/Toonami LOSING THE RIGHTS to all things Dragon Ball?? NO!!!

Last night on Toonami, the final episode of Dragon Ball Super finally got its encore. The timing is suspicious, as 5 years ago, on November 8, 2014, the first episode of DBZ Kai aired on Toonami. Now, 5 years and a day later, we've finally got a non-movie, non-marathon lineup without a Dragon Ball show! Could it be that all 3 shows (DBZ Kai, DBZ KFC, and DBS), were on the same 5-year deal that was made for the 99-episode original Kai only, and was later amended to include the other two? Is this is really all the Dragon Ball we'll ever see on Toonami or [as]?

I don't think so. Dragon Ball everything has had a solid place at [ as ] / Toonami for a very long time. There isn't really any place on basic cable for it to all go to and still get a steady schedule. Can't say SyFylis because anytime they've taken on an anime block, they skunked the crap out of it in short order in favor of things like wrestling matches and Star Trek marathons. So any airings have a better chance via this block, including the movies. ;)

I think it's just really time to take a Ball break though. Unless they get to expand the block again, they only have so many slots and only the final dead zone slot should feature repeats in my honest opinion.

Interestingly enough they seem to be uploading DBZ Kai episodes as if it was still airing. They have added episodes 53, 54, 55 and 56 over the past four weeks and I don't suspect they will be stopping any time soon. I kind of wondered if their Kai license was only renewed for the first 52 episode season but it seems they at least renewed the first 98 episodes. It will be a good long while before we may know if they have renewed the Final Chapters though it wasn't that long ago that some Final Chapters episodes were still streaming.

DB is entirely off the schedule for now but it may very well return to weeknights whenever Adult Swim gets 8pm back. That would be the best way to make use of 131 episodes of Super and 167 episodes of DBZ Kai. And if it doesn't return to weekdays then I would definitely expect it to return to Saturday prime time.

Yeah, it's been a while since it's had a weeknight run. It looks like it's not going anywhere, so maybe that's in the cards for January 2020?

It would most likely be as DBS on weeknights at 8, DBZK resuming its 2018-2019 rerun Saturday nights at 8, but I wonder if Primal has opened their eyes to the prospect of a midnight run instead?
