I had a steak for dinner tonight

Used a Foreman grill to sear a NY strip. Yeah, I know, but if you use a bit of canola oil and the flat side you can get a good sear on a steak with one, just pull it quickly and finish in an oven.

Had some rice with scallions and some roast asparagus with it.

Almost made some Bearnaise sauce, but I am feeling kind of lazy and maybe sick. Also, too many empty (but delicious) calories....

I bought the wholesale primal and cut my own steaks. It works out to be about $5/pound. I only buy it maybe once every three months, most of the time I eat chicken or pork.

took wife out for dinner tonight because we ended up having no kids for a couple hours. we each had a black & blue ny strip, topped with melted blue cheese crumbles. i had a french onion soup side, wife had a salad. and we shared crab cakes for an appetizer. i've never been the person who leaves a restaurant thinking "that was the best meal i ever ate" and today was definitely not an exception. but it was good enough that i don't have any complaints.
