Swimmod_Luna
So after I went to that used car place yesterday I got an e-mail from Credit Karma saying there was a new inquiry in my credit report. It was just the name of the place so I didn't think much of it. Today I have another e-mail from Capital One about my credit report and now suddenly there are 4 separate inquiries, 3 from yesterday and 1 from today all with different names. Greeny
Your problem is going to a used car dealership in the first place. Put an ad in the paper asking for any old people who are looking to sell their cars.
tsar4
If you're letting them do the financing, they're probably hitting a bunch of different banks/loan agencies - each of which may put an inquiry on your report
Codename: Jackass
When I bought my car the dealer pulled my credit using three different loan servicers. Very normal very legal.

KreiaDidNothingWrong
How many times do they exclaim “no rust!” about the car you want the most?

The car I wanted to see most was "in the shop" but they were more than happy to show me one that was $1800 more expensive, and another that was $1500 more and smelled like an ashtray. And I overheard the guy next to me trying to sell some people a car that had been in an accident where air bags deployed and he was acting like that's a thing that is totally normal and happens to a lot of cars.

It only counts as one if they're in a short time frame even though it shows up more than once. From what I've read they do that to make sure you get the best rate. They probably put it in with several different banks all at once to get you financed. It's a normal thing, and the inquiries usually fall off after about 6 months to 2 years, depending on the institution. It's part of the reason why car/house/loan shopping really sucks balls, especially for those with only decent credit. It can ding your credit report something fierce when you start looking. K_N
Yep, when I bought my car they had 4 different banks pull it. And yes when they're all within a short period the impact on your score is lessened.

What the ACTUAL FUCK Phoenix, Arizona? Where I am in northern Texas/Dallas......I have LITERALLY 27 car dealerships within a 5 mile radius of my place. Expand that to 20 miles, and I have a literal 210 dealerships. 😐 You have nothing but space out there.....how the fuck don't they have car dealerships there? Especially when your stuff is more spread out than ours?

Still, there should’ve been more choice for you. It just bugs me, since I like that car and can’t afford it brand spanking new. XD
