Hornshire Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 "It's a beautiful thing, the Destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. It isn't only the synonyms; there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word, which is simply the opposite of some other word? A word contains its opposite in itself. Take ‘good,’ for instance. If you have a word like ‘good,’ what need is there for a word like ‘bad’? ‘Ungood’ will do just as well – better, because it's an exact opposite, which the other is not. Or again, if you want a stronger version of ‘good,’ what sense is there in having a whole string of vague useless words like ‘excellent’ and ‘splendid’ and all the rest of them? ‘Plusgood’ covers the meaning or ‘doubleplusgood’ if you want something stronger still. Of course we use those forms already, but in the final version of Newspeak there'll be nothing else. In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words – in reality, only one word. Don't you see the beauty of that, Winston?"
Ginguy Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Know what would be tremendous? You taking this to rants. So tremendous.

Chapinator_X Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Theres alot of bad hombres in the English language. It's a disaster. That's why I only use big words that highlight how great the English language can be below the 4th grade level which, by the way, is all you people know because the 4th grade is the last grade in school before the grizzly bears attend graduation to kill everyone except the students with guns. The rest were losers. Sad.

NaBarney Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Know what would be tremendous? You taking this to rants. So tremendous. I am pretty sure light political topics like this are fine here, please quit crying for a safe space every time someone mentions the ongoing national disaster that is the current Republican administration in this folder you've chosen for your self-imposed exile out of fear of exposing yourself as the far right wing gargoyle that you are to whatever fraction of the community hasn't previously borne witness to the many unabashed displays of your Count Orlok soul such as "black lives don't matter" and vociferous apologism of anti-gay legislation, the third largest export of the Indiana Republican party (which you've spent your lonely adult life worsening) after racist internet posts and bunk genes, respectively
