you don’t get the right to make that decision...and just because 2 parents work doesn’t mean they can “afford” a child....

so tell me...since you’re the garbage I think you are....

if a sick day makes you blat like a fucking 5 year old...how does maternity leave sit with you?

do you think that women don’t deserve that either? Or what about men? They get maternity leave too....

Whatever gets done about habitual absenteeism should be the employer's decision, not the government's

If it wasn’t for the government...you’d still be making $5 an hour

Yes, and I still manage to get all the household expenses paid, stay out of debt and take excursions from state to state.

I see people earning ten times this amount and can't even get the phucking heat bill paid.

You also live in a shack...barely buy food, you just eat at the cafeteria at work...and you’re ALONE

Phucking is how it's spelled in Tank Girl novels. I like it.

Solitude is what I enjoy.  I don't like sharing my living space.

And what happens when there aren't enough people alive to pay for your existence when you retire, grandpa?

Nobody else has to.  I've already earned it.

Not that I'm aware of.

Hmmm, I looked, and no federal or Colorado state law either. Bummer.  I've always had paid sick and at least a week if not two vacation per year, plus fifteen minutes break every four hours.  I think I've always gotten like a week sick days per year, and most have allowed you to accrue days, and in some cases used accrued days for extra vacation days, if you have some saved up.

I guess I've always been lucky, and I've usually worked for really good companies.  And had some union jobs, too.

The new law would require employers to offer one paid sick day for every 240 hours worked.

I wonder what that would do to my casino's absentee penalty policy.

Update:  Passed in both legislative chambers and signed into law by the governor.  Effective November of this year.

Expect eye popping increases in the rate of absenteeism.

Keep us posted on how it affects your next CBA when it expires and gets renegotiated.

The union's lawyers are studying that already and they seem to be focused on a clause which states that any federal, state or municipal labor law that is more favorable to the employees will automatically replace any existing CBA language.

Or don't, because dumbfuck has no idea what "eye popping" numbers are.

Knowing very little about drafting CBAs, that is interesting foresight on behalf of the contract negotiators. Though that may just be a standard thing to insert in them.
