Codename: Jackass Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 If you live in a high latitude with low UV intensity, live somewhere cloudy, keep odd hours like a 2nd or 3rd shift job, or just don't get enough sunlight, take some vitamin D. Take your vitamin D! 1
Phillies Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Be careful not to take too much. 600-800 units is a good start. I think more is not necessary. you really need a blood draw to determine values.
HardcoreHunter Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Pretty much everyone around pittsburgh has low D. It's a "joke" around here for weather forecasts because it's always "partly cloudy". Due to that we are listed as the 2nd most dreary city in america, last year it was around 210 days of clouds in the year. Anyone from out of state that moves here that I have talked to have become some of the most depressed people ever, especially ones from the south who are used to blue in their skies. I often hear the "It's so gloomy or depressing, I miss the sun" crying that they do. I guess when you spend your whole life without something you tend not to miss it. Really I get annoyed when it's too sunny out. Fuck the sun blinding me while I'm driving, clouds are bros just blocking that sun soy boy from making me go blind and driving into traffic. Long story short most everyone has to take D pills

TrigunBebop Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I sure do love me some D. Especially in my mouth.
AstroCreep Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I take prescription vitamin D. 50,000 units per week.

Phillies Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 55 minutes ago, HardcoreHunter said: Comes up in normal blood work. Yeah I think D levels are not understood by modern day science. For example in the dead of winter my D level is 22. At the end of summer (and I got such a sun tan I looked like fuggz) it was 33. So my max value is 33 and my minimum value is 22. The score is that less then 20 is a medical emergency and less then 30 is "deficient". The scale goes all the way to 100 or something. Also its a vitamin its a hormone. So all this harping about needing the D needs to stop.
HardcoreHunter Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 When I first got treated for it my level was 9.
