I think i'm losing my short term memory

I'm having problems retaining things I just saw or heard just minutes ago....it's weird

I'm not certain this is a thing and to be honest I don't really care if it is, but it's odd...I saw a lot of things possibly jamming me up, but this I didn't see coming...

I think my short term is only shit when I'm trying to complete 2 thoughts at once.....Then I complete 1 and completely forget what the other was

this....so much of this...

I'm going to clean out my system and try to get a regular sleeping schedule going...see if that course corrects...

worse comes to worst, I'll just go full Peter Griffin...

how focused are you when you're trying to remember said things?

My best friend has a terrible memory, we literally took off so he could buy socks one time and he forgot on the way to the store why we were going.

like are you into what you're trying to remember?  I mean like are you watching a football game and then forgetting the score like a hour later?

if i'm watching a show, i'll forget a line I heard ten minuted after I heard it or forget something I read like an hour later....these things may not have been what I was mainly focused on, but I never had trouble remembering things like this before....

the most infuriating is when i'm having a series of thoughts and i'll promptly forget the thought prior to the one i'm currently having....it's a real mind fuck...

I usually have to watch something a few times to remember a line verbatim.  I've watched Parks and Recs and How I met your Mother all the way through at least 10 times and there's still lines I didn't catch in previous viewings.

I'm having trouble recalling things too.

I'm starting to suspect it's a coping mechanism, so many things come across my desk and require my attention that I just shut down and stopped trying to remember them all. The downside is the shutting down is across the board, so I keep getting yelled at at home for not remembering anything I'm supposed to be remembering. But that might just be because I don't listen.

Meditation is seriously the best way. You also said earlier that you should try getting a regular sleep schedule, which if you aren't may be interfering with your memory. Play games that test your short term memory. Better yet, learn a new language. I find that learning Japanese kanji helps my memory skills. I'm always amazed how I can recall characters I rarely see.
