I ate a bunch of raw garlic earlier to combat this flu.

I've never had a Doctor tell me to do it

I think you're just going to really hate how your sweat smells for a day or two

I don't plan on being outside very much, if at all, over the next couple days.

Apparently garlic has properties that help it fight the common cold, but I don't know anything about flu.

I figured there's gotta be something else aside from sleeping all day and cramming zinc and vitamin C down my throat.

Antibiotics.......

Antibiotics don't work on viral infections.

The one time I had the flu my Doctor gave me antibiotics

I puked for two weeks straight, my skin was peeling and my finger nails were falling apart

I was in the Hospital like every other night

Never had the flu since then though!

I often wonder if it was a form of Captain Trips that I somehow survived

I think your doctor might have almost killed you.

My insurance doesn't cover shit, I only have it so I don't have to pay in at tax time and because I can't afford any better.

Well then...different insurance?

Do you have access to free flu shots?

Does your primary care have a sliding scale payment system?

I don't know how to help you.  :|

I don't think so, I'm not allergic to antibiotics and the Hospital also told me I had the flu and to take them

I think the worst part was when I finally got semi healthy and then ended up with ear infection like 2 days later

I can't afford shit or I'd have a different provider, trust me.

I was planning on a flu shot but now that's out the window.

I can't imagine why a doctor or hospital would tell you to take antibiotics for the flu unless you had a bacterial infection as a complication.

Dude this is something I've questioned my whole life

I was 8 and stuff was falling off of my body that shouldn't have, I often wonder low key if i was getting radiation treatment for Cancer and was told it was "the flu"

The "every other day hospital visits" for IV treatments and such, I dunno

I'm alive now and that's all that matters to me

I used to take a garlic supplement every day and never got a really bad cold or the flu for a long time, just really minor colds from time to time. No idea if it was just a placebo effect or not, nor do I know if it does anything for the flu, and if it does it may not do anything if you're already sick.

That's a hell of a plot twist.

I guess I should have grabbed the Lysol after that girl came to work sick but I thought I'd be okay.

Now I've got it.

Possibly, highly doubt it though.  My Parents have always been very straight forward with me.

All I know is I almost died from the flu back in the day but I didn't, and since then I haven't gotten any type of flu version.

I'm telling you dude, I had Captain Trips and I survived
