Sawdamizer Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 250 free hours burning a hole in my back pocket as we speak.
1938 Packard Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I do. Prodigy was worse than AOL. They charged by the hour, but wouldn't let you log on until it spent the first two hours of each session downloading its "upgrades". Not really upgrades at all... just rearranging the buttons and changing a few color schemes. It was designed so you couldn't get used to any particular layout and had to spend more hours just trying figure out how to navigate it.
Azalar Hex Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 My mother still had a paid account until about five months ago. Her ex-husband still pays for his dial-up AOL account. And accesses it using his comcast high speed connection. Because he is dumb shit. No. He doesn't have a land line.
Neko Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I miss it and net zero. Those free hours were the shit.
Top Gun Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I was just cleaning out an old computer desk the other day and found one or two CDs for it. I wonder if those 1000 free hours are still valid.

katt_goddess Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I think I still had those discs floating around until just a couple of years ago. They made excellent ice scrappers for car windows because if they broke, who gave a crap. I vaguely miss PeoplePC. Does that even exist anymore? >
