  1. But that describes Trump too. I don’t understand why you think Biden doing what every health organization in the country is telling people to do: go home when you’re sick so you don’t make others sick.
  2. So, I’m old and frail now because I spent a few days at home after testing positive for COVID? Good to know.
  3. That's the end result regardless. The minefield is attempting to remove someone from the ballot that's been nominated in primary voting. Doing so would trigger all kinds of challenges that while not likely to succeed would still bog down the campaign and ultimately scuttle the ticket. The trick is framing her candidacy in the terms of the already agreed upon ticket, which, as you say, is Joe saying "it's not just me serving four more years, it 'us' serving those four years." At the same time, it's unusual for a VP, even an incumbent one, to campaign this early; I think that's why they're being so cautious about putting her out there to campaign. I think where we might diverge is the degree to which Joe has a succession plan in place. You seem to be suggesting that he's only mollifying that group when I tend to think he has something more concrete in place as a backstop. The way the narrative is lingering tells me that its beyond any slight-of-hand.
  4. As she should. No one wants a usurper. But, that doesn't mean she's against stepping in when she needs to.
  5. I don't see Clarabelle's sniper rifle.
  6. I think that's the most likely scenario as well. It's strange how the calls for Biden to step aside are sporadic and piecemeal. It feels like there is some level of poll watching involved, that they're not so much looking to see how Biden will react as much as how the polls will react (or in this case not react). I've been wondering why they haven't made a more concerted effort to put Kamala out there, not as a presidential candidate but just to increase her profile. It may be there are issues gauging her viability in general that need to be sorted before allowing her to campaign more openly.
  7. Modi is protecting his own hide after he got his ass handed to him in the recent elections. It's probably just smoke - Putin has far too much manufacturing capacity to afford him any meaningful imports, and India isn't exporting anything he can't make himself... like commercial aircraft parts.
  8. What? No princess carry for the wilting flower?
  9. That would be a real hoot.
  10. Edit: Apparently the Secret Service is now part of the DHS instead of being part of the Treasury. At any rate, no they are not going to investigate themselves because most departments don't investigate themselves unless it's for following department policy. The DOJ would investigate any criminal matter.
  11. There have been multiple reports throughout the past four years of Trump not only ignoring his security detail's advice on managing access but also micromanaging his campaign when it comes to said access, so yes, I am explicitly blaming Trump. One look at the overhead photo of the location tells you this is an absolutely ridiculous place to stage a rally - there's a fucking forest not 300 yards behind the stage and behind the buildings in question. That grove of trees on the perimeter stretches hundreds of more yards both forward and behind the stage, representing a several points of infiltration. You should be asking yourself why the police were the ones to notice the guy on the roof - it's because you would need a small army of law enforcement and protection just get the area reasonably secure. I don't know the ticketing arrangement for this rally, but I'll hazard a educated guess that it wasn't ticketed beyond selecting who gets to be on display behind the President. This isn't Trump wearing a slutty dress, it's Trump buck naked, spread eagle, fingering his own asshole.
  12. If the DOJ can't lead the investigation, who would be?
  13. Essentially, Modi told Putin he wouldn't buy anymore of his oil until Putin agreed to buy more Indian goods. Seems unnecessary unless Modi thinks he can put Putin over a barrel and squeeze more money out of Russia.
  14. Stop making a big deal of the Secret Service's "failures." The Secret Service didn't set the location of the rally, the single most important determining factor in how this assassination attempt happened.
  15. Key words: "The family has not heard from Trump, she added." He had plenty of time to play a round of golf on a deserted Bedminster, but not enough time to call the widow of the guy that caught a bullet for him.
  16. Yeah, getting too deep into Kennedy lore really kills the humor.
  17. You do realize at least two different Kennedy women went for a swim, right? There’s an article somewhere that popped up after RFKJr’s latest revelation about how successive generations of Joe Kennedy and his sons systematically abused women in and out of the family. Even JFK Jr chaotic and self destructive recklessness is a manifestation of this abusive behavior.
  18. He can always join RFKs ticket when his current VP pick disappears goes for a swim.
  19. It was always an awkward fit, but she was his best bet at bringing in the independents that he can't seem to reel in. The congressional hearings with the university presidents were tailor made for her to audition for the VP slot, and I thought she nailed it down then. Somehow the exact opposite happened. Vance appears to be swing state bait.
  20. I bet Stefanik is cleaning out the local Krispy Kreme right now.
  21. Donald Trump isn’t a political opponent or an adversary, he is a cancer. He hurts and warps the people closest to him. He feeds all the worst urges of those who love him. He abuses people not because he disagrees with them, but because it serves his own self purposes. It is not immoral to want that man to not only disappear but to be completely removed from existence in the historical sense.
  22. You know it, but like was already said this was predicted. Smith has been itching to get this case out of her court with the general understanding that the SCOTUS wasn’t about to mess with a Special Counsel system the GOP has relied on heavily as a check on Democratic power. Cannon has been bristling at Jack Smith as of late, so it’s pretty clear that she’s close to losing control of her own courtroom. The events this weekend are the perfect opportunity to escape the scrutiny.
  23. It’s been rough watching her navigate stage four cancer. I got a pit in my stomach every time I saw her name pop up in the newsfeed.
