  1. Yeah i recall them making a big deal about how by the end of april they'd have it all transfered over to crunchyroll...
  2. honestly even though nothing much will change with this....it still sucks because as someone who mostly watched dubs I Have more of an attachment to funimation than crunchyroll The Various Funimation logos and credit jingles I'd see when watching a funimation blu-ray or seeing a funimation distributed series on toonami I'll miss those because they were a big part of the anime industry in the united states and it feels weird for them to just become a smaller part of a larger company again even though business will continue as usual with little to no changes for them it'll be hard to get used to the funimation brand being a thing of the past
  3. now the question remains what replaces shenmue and attack on titan.... Food Wars S5 will probably replace attack on titan(it's dub is already on hbo max)
  4. that's the thing...sentai doesn't have a lot of Major shows to keep a block filled if it came down to just them
  5. I mean The X-Men also had to fight villains...soooo yeah there's no reason for the audience to have such a negative reaction to villains showing up at the training camp
  6. apparently when the villains arrived....MHA's popularity went straight into the toilet and the fans couldn't care less about them
  7. the lack of new content has really made this game...boring and repetitive
  8. regardless....i gotta ask could a sentai filled toonami block work? I've seen Hidive before and a lot of it....not too sure if it would be to the toonami crowd's liking some of it yes...but there's also a lot of stuff that wouldn't gel well with the block or it's audience such as it's plethora of romance titles
  9. AMC Is the wild card in all this because we still don't know what exactly they plan to do with the sentai content...just leave as it is or ingrate into AMC+
  10. Okay let me just say this.....you come in here claiming that I'm crying and overreacting over nothing but Demarco clearly stated that yes the merger has affected the ability for them to acquire shows and if getting anything from funimation(now part of crunchyroll)has become that much more difficult they'll need to rely upon sentai titles and viz content a lot more moving forward I'm just sharing the message....I'd be positive all the time if there was happy toonami news all the time but that's not really been the case(at least for me anyways) I Like AC S2 and Shenmue has turned out to be the best of the originals so far but Doubled Up One Piece has only reminded me how much i hate that shows pacing(...really don't want MIA Replaced by a third episode)
  11. demarco has been answering questions on twitter and someone asked if the funimation/cr merger has been affecting toonami's ability to acquire shows and demarco said "Yes" confirming that acquiring content for the block has become much harder
  12. someone noted in the comments something about how the English cast for the jujutsu kaisen 0 movie were paid between $150-$600 for the dub work they did
  13. hoping chainsaw man doesn't get picked up by netflix...I'd really like to see that on toonami
  14. what's even weirder is Demarco stated they had to desperately stretch the budget to make this happen and....this could very well be the last Toonami event unless the budget improves
  15. shockingly the toonami discord and sub-reddit seems to love the news of more FLCL
  16. it's jason demarco's favorite anime
  17. Crunchyroll absorbed funimation because crunchyroll is more popular globally than funimation funny when you remember that crunchyroll was initially a piracy site and now they are the kings of anime streaming
  18. two episodes of one piece is still a snails pace and less happens in two episodes of One Piece than one episode of most things on the block right now
