  1. they really do but for some reason Oda just likes sticking to the same repetitive character jokes... it's amazing that Sanji being a horny man who can't control himself around women and refuses to fight women to the point of being a liability on the crew stuck around this long
  2. it really does seem like the hype for AOT On toonami just isn't there anymore....which makes the "Toonami gets to air the dub one day before funimation streams it" bit pointless
  3. Mecha Naruto is on the cover of naruto ultimate ninja storm revolution and is part of that game....which is why the mecha stuff got into those two episodes and yeah the fact we had two episodes promoting a ps3 game shows how old these episodes are....makes them seem even more out of place
  4. doesn't change the fact that this is pointless filler it was made to promote a specific video game and that's all there's nothing to be gained from it now
  5. a video game advertisement episode for a game from 2014....airing in 2022
  6. would anyone really miss naruto if they had to deal with more stupid crap like this before it concludes on toonami?
  7. this episode is promoting naruto ultimate ninja storm revolution for ps3
  8. so product placement for a video game on the ps3....,makes watching it now really awkward on toonami
  9. so this episode is product placement for a video game....which means watching it on toonami is weird because they are trying to sell you on a video game from long ago
  10. made in abyss is the exception not the rule....i feel more satisfaction watching one episode of assassination classroom than two episodes of one piece
  11. as much as i enjoy one piece on toonami the fact that less happens in two episodes per week than one episode of any other show on the block frustrates me
  12. koro sensei is not well versed in that department
  13. that's the thing though....they gotta keep the pipeline steady and new anime content coming consistently otherwise it's gonna be hard to keep anime fans coming to your service instead of just hopping onto funimation I Know HBO Max probably won't be able to keep a steady stream of anime coming in the near future
  14. wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement of exclusive anime titles headed to paramount plus at this point or for amazon to try something like strikezone again but better
  15. if you wanna talk about drugs then you can do that yourself
  16. despite the block's 25 year legacy it has no presence whatsoever on hbo max...i don't know if they've never thought about that or if they just think the toonami brand name should be exclusive to the tv block
  17. saw some mod on the toonami discord lose his shit because people kept making weird comments about this episode
  18. someone asked him when fena would be added to hbo max and his response stated that he had no idea because there were some internal negotiations being worked out preventing from being on hbo max currently
  19. probably because there wasn't as much of a need to stall for time in 2019 like there was in 2020 and 2021 plus HBO Max coming into play meant more promotional events to try and convince people to subscribe
  20. i don't even see that happening to MHA....the third movie wasn't such a success that it's price would be affected like demon slayer
  21. I'm also curious about that....more so because attack on titan was guaranteed to be on toonami due to that old contract they made where they got first dibs on the dub so nothing was gonna change that ....it's hard to build fan participation and hype if the majority of what you air can already be easily accessed on a streaming service without staying up late that's the major problem for toonami right now....too many people online see the block as something that's outdated and no longer has a purpose you show them the current lineup and they'll say "i can easily see all of that on my computer without committing to a weekly block on saturday nights"
  22. the problem though is this results in a very awkward relationship where both sides want to be the one airing it first and nobody can come to an actual agreement that doesn't fuck over the other side completely Toonami seem more interested in exclusive dub rights than getting to air it one day before it streams and that's just not something any company will agree to in this day and age but on the other hand i can see funimation feeling like giving toonami the right to air a dub one day before it streams is something that doesn't benefit them in anyway at all so toonami has to settle for being behind several weeks on any newer titles.... Yes Japanese Companies want their shows on american television but aside from Toei it doesn't seem like something that's gonna happen all that often.... honestly though i do agree there has to be a middle ground between a show being stuck behind a streaming service or toonami hoarding the rights to a dub for years because right now by the time a dub airs on toonami(excluding originals and AOT)it's old news nobody cares....and that's not something you wanna hear about toonami
