LinkedIn had an article taking companies to task for not posting salary ranges. The comnents, mostly HR people & a few CEOs agreed that it was a bad practice. The reason I always heard for not posting was that it was a "trap" question. If the applicant asked for too much they either thought too much of their abilities or didn't do the research on the going rate. Too low, and the applicant doesn't feel they are worth much.

Sometimes, if you write the manufacturing company explaining your plight, they'll send freebies or coupons. My mom got 2 cases of chocolate twizzlers because she couldn't find them near her.

Tell it to pay for half the rent/mortgage & utilities. -
What I'm seeing mostly is, "here's a x job, but the description is a job doing x, y & z (and maybe a couple others)...but we'll only pay you for the x job".

While Culliton arrived after the incidents, I think Stan was his protector over his HC tenure, so it might be soon.

Yeah, my phone lit up when it was announced. (My router gave up the ghost Mon. morning) Good riddance. Bring back Tallon.

My Alma Mater (Northern Illinois U.) won on one of the strangest muffed FG attempts I've ever seen. Cent. MI. is in position to win the game with just seconds on the clock and the FG would be a chip shot. The snap is a turf burner, but should still be handled by the holder. Instead, the ball goes through his hands and between his legs in full Bill Buckner mode. NIU falls on the ball...BUT WAIT - there are flags everywhere and both penalties are on NIU. But both occurred after the play was blown dead. Ball goes over to NIU and they win!

So essentially, I’m moving to Washington next year.

I used to allocate apparel to stores in that area. They complained when I sent winter coats there because the winters weren't as harsh as Chicago & the stuff just sat on the rack. I get it's an acclimation thing, but still, a couple weeks straight in the 20s F and you'd be out in a windbreaker in the 40s. -

40s F isn't exactly "cold". FYI - they're calling for a wetter winter in that area because of La Niña. -
When you see chefs on TV tasting the sauce they're making
tsar4 replied to Mix's topic in Free-For-All
Graham Kerr was an Aussie chef, having a cooking tv show long before most anyone else. He pretty much swilled wine the whole show. I never saw or heard of Keith Floyd until I tried looking up drunk chefs to find Kerr. -

Grew up watching Graham Kerr (I never saw Keith Floyd), so you might be on to something. -
Not sure. Probably tickets to a Blackhawks game.

They're not fooling anyone with those old Shatner toupees.

It'd help if I had something to add to the thread...like a win, maybe. I'll bet teams are already lining up to open next season against the Hawks.
