I try to hit up McDonald's while the owner is there
KimopoBotar replied to Mini_ghost420's topic in Free-For-All
It wouldn't be instantaneous though. Rent wouldn't just instantly jump. Price increases would take time to roll out and would start mostly with more labor intensive products. We can see this already happening with terrifs. So yes, you're right that they'll fight it, but it will take time and it will still be a win for workers. And in the future, maybe ten years, it'll have to go up again. Just because employers are greedy doesn't mean we can let them get away with it. It's always been a fight. It always will be. We can't afford to let them win. -

What buddy said is the responsibility of the employers. Either they operate with those standards or they lose money. That's one of those things we actually can let the market do. The problem is, without some kind of push they're still going to keep wages low. The options are either raise the minimum wage to a liveable standard, or sit and wish the employers would do so on their own. Like my dad always said: wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which hand fills up faster. They may raise prices, but they still have to operate in a market. There's no guarantee that those extra wages will go back into higher prices when customers can likely find cheaper options. There will still be competition. Employers have always acted like this with angry scary rhetoric. They beat and murdered union proponents before they were forced to respect them. The only way to play with these kinds of people is to be as ruthless as they are. Forcing them to pay fair wages is the only way they ever will. -

This is the same kind of argument that they use against unions, and what it boils down to is a threat by the companies in order to secure our compliance. But they have room to lose some and still make profits. Most companies, even with the havoc of the last few weeks, have been making record profits for years (starting under the Obama administration). Wage growth hasn't grown to match. That money didn't disappear. Those at the top keep sucking up more of it. And they will until we return to the gilded era. Or worse. A liveable minimum wage prevents that. Or at least slows it. That was what the minimum wage was intended to do. -
I'm right handed. My left isn't useless, but it's not good for the nitty gritty of writing and things like that. It handles the WASD keys and surrounding hot keys well enough though.

Too many folks go around thinking they're more important than anyone else. -

I hate to say probably a little more than half the time it was, but I'd like to add that most homeless folks are decent. Only the real junkies were the problematic ones. In fact, 90% of the time it was junkies, homeless or not. I actually got the mace because an apparently not homeless by still tweaked out junkie tried to get me to fight with him. The rest were just macho type dudes who can't handle being told what to do. Most of them fairly well off and white. The retarded part is that i always explained rules politely unless it was an egregious and obvious desire to cut in line. Some kermit the frog built idiot wanted to fight over me not legally being able to buy more than 50$ of product from a vehicle with out of state plates. He got in my face and i told him to be careful. He wanted to throw down, but i pulled out my mace, and kindly instructed him to return to his vehicle in order to avoid broken legs. He decided to comply. That's just how it goes in recycling. People don't respect the workers and we're often alone or at sites with only two people. It's risky, but I've managed to avoid any fights. -
Its really hard to type coherently since i upped my meds

I'm glad you're happy. It takes a lot of time to get there and find the right meds. Don't be afraid to try something else if it gets to be a problem. And make sure you're very careful while driving. Good luck and i hope this works -
THC. Everything else i enjoy has down sides. Eat too much and get sick. Play too much Skyrim and i neglect more important things or burn out on it. Too much sex and my dick gets raw or i get one of those horrible hamstring cramps. But THC never lets me down. Also my SO is pretty great.

I just carry mace. I've had a lot of almost fights in my line of work, but have successfully avoided actually getting in them. Some unconscious part of me reacts to potential violence by trying to deescalate or intimidate. Which is where mace comes in. People tend to think twice when they see mace. Used to just have a big fixed blade drywall knife clipped to my belt. That helped too. No idea if i could pull off sweet moves like ninja kid there. More than likely I'd just do the "big white boy" thing and tackle em at the waist or legs. Or black out with rage and wake up next to a pulp that used to be a skull. I bottle up a lot of stuff. -

This beast was my dinner tonight Well, half of it was. Seriously though, I've held babies smaller than this thing. Prosciutto, mozzarella, onions, and tomatoes. It was really good. I just remembered i had the other half. It's like Christmas.

My mom made pumpkin soup for most Halloweens. It was a savory soup with chicken and veggies made inside a pumpkin. Little bits of the meat would be in it too. It was pretty good. Every year i think about making it in her memory but I'm always exhausted from work and it's a long process i think. -
Did they figure it out? I had a bad reaction to Zoloft too. Not fun. At all.

I remember but I don't recall the under a bridge part. I thought that was Packard.

I like all kinds of bread but the tortilla really came in clutch this year. So my vote has to go there.
