2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
Raptorpat replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
I've been trying to think up a rhetorical questioning (I've only gotten to try out on my mom so far) where I ask them to name any explicit thing that he did that helped anything, with the caveat that it had to happen because of him specifically and not from having a Republican administration/Congress in general. Then as an example I concede updating NAFTA, because no one else would've risked cutting ties with Canada to do that. I just want to be able to pin someone down, whether it's that they like what he says, whether they just like anyone with an R next to their name, or whether they just don't actually know how any of it works. -

Elon Musk now owns Twitter, apparently trying to run it into the ground

If they are both doing the same thing - collectively withholding their purchasing power as a means of protest - where is the line drawn that makes it all-american in on instance but evil censorship in the other? Is it the scale of the purchasing power? Is it different when it's business-to-business instead of business-to-consumer? -

If the whole purpose of a boycott is that a group withholds their collective purchasing power as a means of protest, what is the legal distinction between collectively refusing to buy Bud Light/Yuengling and collectively refusing to buy advertising space? Where is the line between a legal boycott and an illegal boycott? -

Trump's campaign manager says swiftboat was never disproven, 2004 GWB campaign guy calls him out. But the real question is "why is Trump's campaign manager posting on twitter? Shouldn't he be busy running a presidential campaign?" -

Dem enthusiasm may very well drop down to earthly levels after the convention and Trump's campaign may find a way to unflip the canoe, but don't count out nothing changing and the bottom completely falling out from under the Trump campaign. The dream there would be "ex-Senator" Ted Cruz. -
If I fully comprehend, assuming the Grad PLUS loans aren't eligible and I only count the backlog interest on my direct unsubsidized loans, it would still be about $10.5K in forgiveness based on my current balance. A few K more if the capitalized interest that converted into principal counts too.
