  1. At this rate, I just might...
  2. Speaking of Food Wars, I had a dream about it last night, which I detailed here because it isn't really specific to this episode.
  3. Here's all the details that I can remember, fresh off the top of my 5:30AM brain: I went back and forth between acting as a third-party observer and as Soma himself. For some reason the show now takes place on a cruise ship that's akin to a decently sized city, a la Girls und Panzer without the tanks. This future character named Etsuya Eizan showed up, looking just like I thought he would, and apparently he's a pre-prepared meat kind of man. Soma beat him in a timed competition even though he was given extra time to finish up by the judges. One part of the cruise ship town has all these side-by-side walk-up-and-order restaurants numbered #10 to #1 all owned by two bitchy-looking sisters who we never actually see in person, but whose actual operators are bitchy enough to compensate. The Aldini brothers showed up at #10, where Isami (the big one) ordered a giant kabob while having a surprisingly civil conversation with the middle-aged lady in charge, while Takumi (the blonde one) was turned away for superficial reasons. Probably his resting bitchface. Soma was immediately booted from the first three restaurants for no reason, except for #7 where some polite glasses-wearing character that may have been either Iida from MHA or Sakamoto from Sakamoto Desu ka? had a friendly conversation with him then moved him along with a $1-plus charge. Then he went into #6, where the staff was actually willing to serve him actual food. The dish was some type of Finnish fish dish that I don't think actually exists (and if you want it gluten-free, it comes in a towel instead of a bun). This was during the part where I was Soma, so he asked for dairy-free ice cream for dessert and was recommended to like fifty different places that served it. That "episode" also had a plot where he was going up against the bitchy sisters, but the dream fast-forwarded past all the details and to a part where he and Ikumi are trying to sneak into one of the restaurants, but he gets knocked out on the way and left behind. Speaking of the episode format, the next-episode preview was centered around Ryoko (the malted rice girl), who did her hair up in twintails for some reason (and may have also been wearing an open-faced zentai) and had a lesbian kiss with either Megumi or Yuki (the token Luci Christian character). Yet for some reason, the episode title claimed that it was going to be about soccer. Apparently there's now a vampire and an elf in the cast, and Erina, Hisako and Megumi are all undercover Soul Reapers hunting down another, rogue Soul Reaper who infiltrated the academy. This was where I started to question if this was actually real, BTW. Also, Erina and Hisako now have the one-note running gag of speaking in unison, which they did for bitching at Megumi. There were other non-Food Wars related characters there, including an aside where Lupin, Jigen and Goemon were all in my/Soma's apartment and having a conversation about weird-tasting wine. I may have also taught a random kid a new and creative method to annoy his parents. I'm thinking this has to do with the breadsticks I made yesterday. The recipe called for Greek yogurt as the only "liquid", but the dairy-free kind I bought wasn't nearly enough so I had to add a little over half a cup of water to make a decent dough. Turned out pretty good despite all that, though. In short, I once again wonder why I can't have any normal dreams where I'm screwing anime characters and not living out their series on way different tracks from how they actually are. Just give me one dream where I'm fucking/being fucked by Midnight, brain. That's all I ask.
  4. Uhhhhhh... She recognized Joichiro from that photo she has with her? I don't know why you people watch this show when you clearly aren't going to be paying attention and then ask questions like you had no idea that you weren't paying attention.
  5. Poor Ben, he's already forgotten that Taiju exists.
  6. In case you haven't figured it out by now, Demarco isn't exactly the smartest man. 😏
  7. Knowing Senku, I'm sure the homemade cola factors into his sulfa drug plan. She isn't wearing a habit, so CLEARLY. In their defense, they had no idea it was a magic stone when they recovered it, and gradually forgot about it by the time they started giving a shit about them. ONE PUNCH MAN - For a self-proclaimed hero killer, Garou sure seems to be doing a lot of not hero-killing. But hey, at least that means Mumen Rider, Tank Top Seitz and Charako all survived, as I hoped they would. Genos confusing Saitama's disguise for him wanting his hair back is the best misunderstanding. DR. STONE - Aw boo, we get the return of Tsukasa but no Taiju or Yuzuriha cameos. I gotta say I hate Magma, guy seems somehow even more sexist-bordering-on-misogynistic than even Gaston. I don't like his #1 fanboy either. CONTROVERSIAL OPINION OF THE WEEK: In anime (especially ecchi and hentai) incest is fine as long as no one gets pregnant. FIRE FORCE - I'm glad someone smacked the shit out of one of those annoying lolis, even if it was actually some dude in disguise. Oh hey, sniper chick's actually kinda hot. Is anyone else wondering how the hell Benimaru got the nickname "Waka" anyways? Probably some obscure Japanese thing. FOOD WARS! - If Soma's breakfast risotto was a 10/10, then Joichiro's vegetarian breakfast ramen was an 11/10, if not higher. I'd eat both (assuming the soy sauce in the latter was gluten-free). Also, tempe = Indonesian tofu. DEMON SLAYER - Okay, I get the deal with Kimetsuverse Meruem and Komugi (same VAs, check em), but at the same time I don't get them. But hey, at least Tanjiro improved thanks to their help. BLACK CLOVER - If there isn't a name for the trope where an obvious reveal is debunked early on but then turns out to have been real all along, it should be called "Misdirection from the Obvious". VENTO AUREO - More Ray Chase on the block is good, though part of me still wishes Todd was voicing Bruno instead. My mental reading of "This is the taste of a liar!" in his voice was, and still is, incomparable. NARUTO SHIPPUDEN - I don't think we're ever gonna get the token accidental full OP playage this time. LUPIN THE 3RD - I knew from the beginning that Mirage was going to be a woman - I mean c'mon, what kind of guy sniper names himself that? - and guessed she was the daughter of the Mirage that Jigen knew, once I figured the eye and hair colors didn't match up. Still a fun episode, feels good to not be the kind of person who bitches about predictability.

  11. Friendly reminder that the full TV size for the new ED is much, much creepier than the Toonami version.

  13. Oh, I bet /co/ is gonna be pissed about this! 😁 Still, good that we're getting season 2 after all that behind-the-scenes controversy. Maybe now we can figure out who the Union really is! 🔍 [those meddling kids]
  14. There's a reason Enter the Anime is so widely mocked by those who bothered to sit through at least part of it.
  15. Please tell me either you're being sarcastic or I'm reading that wrong...
  16. Ghost Hound has top tier sound design, Happy Sugar Life is pretty kino for being so low-budget and problematic in the current year, and Parasyte is just too damn good a time to really feel horrified by all that's coming at you.
  17. I'm sure Demarco would've moved mountains for it to air on [as] had Netflix not pulled out their comically oversized wallet first.
  18. No wonder it went straight to Netflix.
  19. Whatever it was, I trust ANN more.
  20. Incorrect.
  21. He voiced Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 2 in Kids Next Door. That alone was enough to sell me on his vocal range.
