In other words, he’s a fucking moron. I’m sure DeMarco absolutely adores the guy, but Toonami’s now even more boned because any hope of relief from HBO Max originals is gone and I don’t see Mr. “Movie Theaters are a Sacred Institution” wanting to invest any pennies in Japanese cartoons from scratch when that’s the only reliable source they have left. Hell, knowing this penny pincher, he might not be above breaking out reruns from the vault to save money. Who’s up for Afternoon Adventures 2.0?

So any hope of HBO Max helping out is now gone - The rumor is HBO Max will be dissolved and what’s left folded into a reality show focused Discovery +, while HBO remains primarily a repository for films that have finished their theater runs. Zaslav is an old school “theaters first” guy and also a penny pincher, so bye bye Harley, bye bye Young Justice, and bye bye any relief for Toonami.

Apparently Blue Beetle, despite being completed, and starting the Latino kid from Cobra Kai fresh off of well…Cobra Kai, is next to be canned. Warner is apparently going to axe it after viewing a first print. At this point just give Keaton a shit ton of money and have him play old Bruce in Batman Beyond. It’s what they should have done with him in the first place.

When did winning the lottery become so stressful?
Jman replied to matrixman124's topic in Current Events
I got to finally pay off my biggest bills a few months ago, so other than some considerable charitable donations (because the world could use some), it would probably be the basic life improvements. Nothing exceptionally showy though, I don’t need a yacht. -
Look, I actually like guacamole on meat but the hell with these people finding things to blame anyone under 50 for.

That’s a standard herald of regime change. Clearing the deck of anything less than synonymous with the brand to bring in your own stuff and claim credit for its success. -

That’s where I move, change my phone number, and no one knows where I am except my closest family. -

There are too many stories of lottery winners being conned into schemes or taken for rides that if I were to win, absolutely no one would know. My favorite from that hall of shame is Wrestlicious, a female wrestling organization funded by a lottery winner…that got canceled after one season and left him flat broke. He was asking for it when he made himself an on air authority figure called “JV Rich”. Now me? No one would know. That multimillion dollar apartment was an inheritance dammit! Also a lot of rich folks use holding corporations and trust funds to manage their money so it’s not done in their name. Anything that keeps the money trail being led to me is a good thing. -
https://variety.com/2022/film/asia/live-action-knights-of-the-zodiac-toei-animation-transformation-1235321919/ Toei interview about the project. Interestingly Toei’s head acknowledged the Netflix adaptation…didn’t go so well but the creator of the manga took him out for a night and helped smooth things over. Funny enough that Netflix show is getting a second season on Crunchyroll, especially with Sony as an international distributor. Hopefully they learned.
