jason demarco comments on 1/8 schedule

Tiger Mask W kicked ass and I’ll just sit here stewing over the fact that the review of it Wrestling with Wregret put up was taken down. And hey, AEW is popular. It’s also cheap programming. Of course, my suggestion was freaking Peacemaker so who am I to talk? -
The show was garbage, the direction wretched, and the woman who played Faye was a clown. On top of that, the timing was pretty damn coincidental for it not to be shade. But it felt more like TOM celebrating Bebop as the anime classic it is rather than comparing it to the recently cancelled trainwreck.

The Netflix shade was fairy subtle. A few lines that were definitely cracks but no “Welcome to the Ouch!” jokes. I know Steve Blum has been rather adamant about people not going after the actors so I can presume he asked them to use a lighter touch.

Featurertte - I feel like I should be grading this on a curve since Filipino TV does not do this sort of thing normally. By their own admission this is the most expensive production in the network’s history and while it’s not Hollywood level AT ALL there is a clear sense of enthusiasm a lot of productions don’t have.

I still say they should beg HBO Max for Peacemaker if all else fails. -

If you’re going to get an old Media Blasters show, you might as well just air Magic Knight Rayearth. -
Tom needs to make at least a few cracks about the Netflix show.

It could be worse. It could be High Guardian Spice. Demon Slayer's value has increased tenfold, there's a massive bidding war over Chainsaw Man, and Sony seems to like to play all sides (in case you're wondering, Cobra Kai is a Sony show and a huge hit for Netflix.) So I can easily see DeMarco going on about how important traditional TV is and Sony going - -
Forget who has the noitaminA rights. Amazon of all people did for a bit but I have no clue now.

They’re not letting up any in 2021 it seems. Fun fact - Ron Howard was attached to a LA adaptation that has since fallen through.

Gen:Lock Season 2 premieres November 4 on HBO Max
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
gen:Lock was just incredibly...blunt about it. And the animation can't make it sexy, so it just comes off as creepy. This is again why I kind of expect Jordan to never do any sort of animation again if it involves working with American writers. Not that needs to work with Bardel anymore, dude's directing Creed III as his directorial debut. Let's see if he can top Stallone fighting Hulk Hogan and Mr. T in the same movie. -

Tanked on Toonami…somehow is getting a live-action trainwreck with a 1:1 scale Going Merry sitting in Cape Town, South Africa. Granted, after the Bebop shitshow I have NO confidence in it, but the Pitch Meeting skit will be a riot. -

I dunno, DeMarco passed on Darling in the Franxx, and for all its metaphors, it didn't have straight up sex scenes. -

Considering Stone Ocean was in the top 10 of all programs on Netflix once it debuted, it’s more a damning indictment of Toonami’s place in modern anime viewing. -

Season 2 wrapped the 23rd and not only am I sure that it will never air on Toonami, I’m pretty sure that Michael B. Jordan will go full “American cartoons are dogshit” level weeb. That is how bad this was. -
Hazbin Hotel - Hell is getting interest in your animated pilot
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Movies & Television
Over a year later, news is trickling in - Specifically that the original pilot cast was replaced by union workers, and rumors it's Netflix bound. -

He's right that it's not his fault that Netflix got JoJo, and Eden's Zero, and all that other stuff. I know he's probably praying Netflix doesn't win the bidding war for Chainsaw Man. -

Why? The franchise has an entire film series of samurai movies that are, if you don't count Alita (and even there it's a close one) the best live-action adaptations of a manga to date (Edge of Tomorrow is disqualified by being a light novel first and changing a lot of details, even if they ultimately worked really well thanks to Tom Cruise acting his ass off as per usual). And the new arc that was supposed to get made won't on account of child porn (although from what I understand, he was able to avoid jail time and paid a fine that even local newspapers were shocked by how small it was). I'm sorry, but I can't support this shit and condemn Crunchyroll for hiring a sex pest like Warren Ellis. Fuck em both. This seems kind of pointless. -
https://bleedingcool.com/tv/bobs-burgers-actor-jay-johnston-reportedly-banned-over-capitol-riot/ Jay Johnston is off the show, and my guess is probably having some FBI agents set to talk to him. Also private detective Tim. It feels like Tim is doing more of the acting and guest roles these days while Eric is happier behind the scenes.
