Ha I know right? I think this guy feels the same way most fans feel, that HxH is an intentional deconstruction of the Shonen battle genre the same way Madoka is a deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre. But while Madoka was obviously a deconstruction, I have my doubts that that's what the author intended for HxH. I think people just kind of latched on to that as a way to explain some of the odd writing choices.

Clearly the solution is to cancel Unicorn and replace it with Keijo.

Tough call.... I think I'd go with Super so far. But we're comparing 8 eps of Super to the full run of GT. Gt had it's moments... the Baby and Super 17 arcs weren't bad, but other than that the show was a pretty dismal pile of manure.

My opinion is unchanged. It's a shameless cash grab and never should have been made... in the same way that GT never should have been made.

You're nuts if you think RE Zero won't get a dub. The only company that churns out dubs in a timely manner seems to be funimation. My Hero Academia? One month goes by... and bam dubbed. Old news? How old is DBZ, HxH OP, Naruto and Jojo again? I mean, the anime is actually from this current decade. And the manga from 2006. Jojo and DBZ are what... from the 80's? =P

Is it popular? It has name recognition but I haven't seen that many people who actually thought making it was a good idea. It's getting beat by KAI so I'm not sure its as popular as people think.

Mob Psycho, Gate, Overlord, Future Diary, Re Zero.... ya know... popular stuff? If you play popular stuff people will tune in. Whether anyone thought it was good or not, people tuned in for Akame Ga Kill. The truth is, right now... the lineup sucks. When it has actual competition like free premium channels...a weak lineup like this is going to get crushed.

Yeah like I said, free HBO and like 20 other premium channels. I watched tons of terrible movies all weekend. Batman V Superman!

The last half hour of Clones and Revenge of the Sith were pretty solid. People were so pissed about the first two prequels that they didn't really give Sith enough credit I think.

I think that's partly why it got such rave reviews. People were happy it wasn't another Phantom Menace or 2 hours of Hayden Christiensen whining.

Other than the Hunters just not letting him be a hunter and keeping an eye on him? I have no idea. The author is very stingy with details about the world and how it works. I would assume every country in HxH had it's own military with powerful nen users in order to deal with people like that. But that's just a wild guess at this point. But are you really going to tell me that giving a serial killer the ability to go almost anywhere and kill with almost no consequences isn't the tiniest bit illogical? Unless the Hunter Org is just a bunch of aholes intent on sowing death and chaos everywhere. From the lack of information ... that could be the case as well.

Gotenks forgets to go SS3 and Mystic Gohan which is supposed to be stronger than SS3 is reduced to a joke.

HBO free previews this weekend, tons of premium channels are free so the ratings may take a hit.

You think the authors ambivalence towards death in this series is logical. Without providing any justifiable reason for the characters acting this way.... it really isn't. Killua and Hisoka? Sure. An assassin and crazed killer. Wouldn't expect them to care much. But everyone else? Their attitudes aren't any different. You keep saying Gon doesn't hold any societal norms... but why wouldn't he? He seems happy go lucky, raised in a stable house in a fishing village by an Aunt that seems pretty nice and easy going. But despite that he's basically a sociopath who doesn't blink at the deaths of others, or when his own life is in danger. I mean... if he's supposed to be a sociopath..... then his character makes sense. But the story hasn't established that. This is something that people are going to notice and find off putting. And really, giving Hisoka a Hunters licence..... after almost 40 episodes you should probably explain why any organization thinks this is a good idea.
