  1. Woah, so I can do this now... not bad. And I don't mind the new look. In fact, I recently returned to backpack.tf's forums for the first time in a while and saw that they had upgraded to it. In some ways, this reminds me of that blasted NodeBB layout, but a lot more functional.

Here's to keeping it good. Also, I love these nostalgic smilies. :D

  2. I had that same feeling up to late August when the backdoor fiasco happened... everyone thought Toonami was in serious danger, but then LOL BebopAirz and it turned out they were actually gaining a half-hour. If the block really was in danger of being cut with ratings like this, it would've already happened. DeMarco is one to tell us when things aren't going to well, like back in early 2015 with the mass block cut. So unless something sketchy is going on behind the scenes, I guess we don't have to worry about it. Also, the TV industry is not just going from points A to B and having to fight monsters along the way. There are logistics on top of logistics, always more than what we think we know, so anyone who thinks they're an armchair quarterback and can do it better than those at Williams Street is almost always wrong. Who knows what's been going on? Maybe streaming numbers are up for them and the other Turner channels, so they can afford to sink more money into their anime fetish? Or maybe Rick and Morty did so well for the network that everything else is just running up the score? You know, pad other things out to appease the fans. And going back to my previous point, I probably should've worded that a little better and included something other than the nihilist talking point. Yeah, Toonami probably should be advertised a little better than it is. There was some guerrilla marketing for Samurai Jack S5 that people liked, and I'd guess they do it again for other big projects like the new FLCL seasons, but other than that, the block has been a niche thing since [as] brought it back and I guess the crew wants it to stay that way, especially if the ratings are in fact decent.
  3. There are probably lots of people who still don't know about the new Toonami even after five, going on five and a half years... but as we know, if the shows are rating okay, the higher-ups will see no need in advertising elsewhere.
  4. The iDOLM@STER Episode 5: "Vacation with Everyone"
  5. Love and Lies #1 (explanation) The iDOLM@STER #5 The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Distant Star Part 3 Blend S #1
  6. I should definitely check in here more often. Of course, it's hard to know what to say when you literally only watch JoJo's on the block anymore. :ghost: The episode with Empress was just so fucked up. Having Christine Marie Cabanos voice its first form was pretty genius, and yet I couldn't stand a minute of her highest possible angry voice.
  7. Heh... I wonder why you posted in this folder.
  8. And they even liked it. At this point, the Like button should be renamed to "I don't hate this". I want to work for mine again.
  9. What did I fucking say? shithead Toonami, you let me down, but there wasn't going to be much complaining to begin with since it's a marathon. My main problem is that, if they decided to run DBZ Kai again so soon, is there much else stopping them from doing Samurai Jack S5 again in December? I'd like to watch part of least one marathon for a change.
  10. I remember seeing some creepy ones last year during the movie, including one with no music on a black background about eliminating credit card debt. :skull: Also, if the 2:00A hour is the one without ratings, that's just weird, because the switch forward and back happens at the start of that hour, so then it goes back to 1:00. Shippuden and Outlaw Star should be the ones primarily affected by it.
  11. Teekyu #1 to #5 The Eccentric Family #2 [now in the right place]
  12. I should've had this done on Sunday, but nobody even wants to invent reasons to care, so I'm good with... whatever time in the weekend. Even if it's technically Tuesday. :pumpkin: Say hello to my 900th post. This playlist
  13. It could, if you're mad about the show's quality. Personally, I've seen a Toonami block without any Dragon Ball shows, as that's how it originally started. I wouldn't mind them going back to that at some future point, especially since the franchise is not the ratings draw it used to be.
  14. I'm thinking they might do a Hunter × Hunter marathon. I don't know, but Greed Island seems about as worthy of representing "the feast" to me. But I'd be happy with pretty much any show, unless they somehow decide to marathon DBZ or (oh lord) Samurai Jack again.
  15. You know what I'm talking about. 11/25 is the date. So I guess that one-year experiment didn't work. I know one could assume it's due to laziness, but I am implied to agree. Thanksgiving is the one holiday every year where most people travel, so if they're on the road and don't have access to a TV, it's for the better that they don't miss any shows. Also, they're going to be showing the final episode of Countdown anyway, so this is probably to get more people interested and make the stay-at-homes watch a marathon. You know how well Parasyte did for Thanksgiving '15. And the final episode of this TIE is six minutes long, which could severely fuck things up and probably makes marathon scheduling easier, but I have no idea if this influenced the decision. More information on this stuff as it comes, maybe.
  16. Eh, it's a slow night with OwlChemist not on. I put mine up, fully detailed, in one shot.
  17. Let everyone else get some, yeah? Even me, who hasn't watched the show in weeks. But even I know it's not really like that .hack stuff right now. This is an actual, tangible place, which is not at all like those digital worlds. And who even cares about a deadly video game nowadays? Half of the people on Twitter wish they could visit one and die in it. The world isn't that awful. And yet again, the usual applies. Have fun.
  18. World(END) #12 [it can be two things]
  19. I don't know how binary decision-making plays into this, but if Jason says Part 3 of JoJo's is doing fine, shouldn't that mean it is not a dud? Just like most of us are not crackpots. But I guess it would be easier to just name some currently-running anime that are doing well and/or Toonami won't get, such as Black Clover, The Ancient Magus' Bride, Juni Taisen, and Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji.
  20. Or even better, Lupin. Seriously, "How Lupin III Stole Christmas"; the theme couldn't be more obvious! It'd make up for me not getting JoJo's for Halloween. I'd also like to see that come to fruition maybe for the week after.
  21. I really have to wonder if the "new layout every year" thing is something that costs money... well, much of it, anyway. It seems pretty wasteful to me. There was also the "Pipes" revival for the 20th anniversary celebration that got used for less than two months. Maybe they should've started using that as permanent packaging; someone I follow on Twitter suggested that for nostalgia purposes. I mean, the old Toonami never had a problem with reusing graphics; a typical look lasted for more than a year, and they had an exponentially higher budget. ::]::
  22. Oh hell no. And not with who made this thread. :robotmad
  23. Or JoJo's. Who cares if it would've rated low, some of its episodes are a great fit for Halloween, like the one with Soul Sacrifice.
  24. Finally, Toonami gets the themed marathon-ish it's always deserved.
  25. It's probably the Funiroll deal. CR announced they would be dubbing their own shows, but then that deal happened, and so did delays. KanColle took its sweet time to come out on home video, and Kabaneri has followed suit. Of course, there's no guarantee anything that streamed before the deal was made is locked up by Funi. :ghost:
