  1. Oh... damn, you caught that. I fixed it on both projections, but not the master.
  2. I definitely took that into account for my own spreadsheets. It also depends on, since April Fool's Day is on a Sunday this year, if they preempt anything in the block for a gag or not. Though I have a stronger feeling that they won't, either February or the first two weeks of April would be ideal for an uninterrupted run. Also, I forgot to say what I think the gag will be... either they draw moustaches on the characters again, or it's a Kemono Friends stealth dub premiere marathon.
  3. We're almost at 2017's absolute end, and while it's been asked elsewhere what we think will take Lupin the Third's spot, I wanted to make a thread so we can discuss in general what the future might hold for the better cartoon show. What you think can be as optimistic or cynical as you want. Now, here are my thoughts: Blood Blockade Battlefront replaces Lupin, as previously stated. FLCL 2 airs in April. Attack on Titan S3 replaces FLCL 2. For reruns, they bring back Space Dandy and The Big O in HD, and Samurai Jack S5 airs again at some point in the year. Made in Abyss airs on Toonami before the end of the year. Big whoop! If they go for any movie, I'd say Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale has a good chance of airing. The block expands to 10:00 p.m. to accommodate either new FLCL season. I think the second replacing DBZ Kai is plausible, but it isn't my strong opinion; this would be more likely for the third (and not to mention, four schedule expansions in less than a year would be blowing their load too hard) If Kai does take a break, I think there's a better chance of AoT S3 replacing Gundam. Otherwise, I would say another recent Funi simuldub such as Knight's & Magic will replace that one. Also, there's a block retraction at some point in the year. I would expect it to happen when a rerun finishes, and before they expand to 10:00. They get through Part 3 of JoJo's and Diamond is Unbreakable airs close to the year's end, but if not then, in Q1 2019. So much for potential soiling. FLCL 3 either airs in November (which I consider probable) or is delayed until 2019. Black Clover airs at least half of its alleged 51-episode run. At least one co-production is announced during the year. I'm betting on Children of Ether as a Toonami show. Me's also made a spreadsheet with at least several of these changes seen out to next year's conclusion.
  4. Hacka Doll the Animation #5 and #6 The iDOLM@STER #11 Made in Abyss #1 [it's nice to see some overlap]
  5. Speaking of which, if Space Dandy were to replace either this Bebop rerun or Outlaw Star, that would be great.
  6. I'm only not watching IBO because I've basically grown out of Toonami. Also, I just noticed that 1/14's Bebop episode ("My Funny Valentine") is correct, so all they need to do is fix it for the first week.
  7. That's always cool. I'm currently in the process of rewatching Love Live!, from the start, mostly I didn't watch the show coherently the first time. And I missed the arc where μ's performed Snow Halation, which you can't really have an excuse about. Shrine of the Morning Mist #1 (restart) and #2 The Ancient Magus' Bride #6 Blend S #12 (END)
  8. It starts at 10:30 p.m. and goes until 4:00A. The first eleven episodes will air.
  9. Somebody pointed out that Bebop skipping two episodes could be due to not airing for two weeks on the schedule, but it never did that for the last two marathons. And I didn't even realize the Gundam skip. So yeah, both of these are probably errors.
  10. Yeah, it's really nothing more than reheated leftovers, but who wouldn't want to dump out the fridge before your stuff goes bad? Enjoy the marathon, and/or a night off from watching this cartoon block. You can be mean to each other, I guess... but no outright flaming.
  11. Well, if whoever's in here likes what they see, they can easily jump in and do a show of their own. And it's by no means a committal thing. You can take however long or little as you want, and do it in any style desired... as I'm sure this contrast between posts will dictate. The iDOLM@STER Episode 10: "Inching Forward with Everyone"
  12. Blend S #11 Hacka Doll the Animation #3 and #4 The iDOLM@STER #10
  13. That sounds like a great idea. I've been thinking up stories for as many as several years at this point, and I really want to make them material.
  14. So, compared to the last schedule pattern, the first ninety minutes of the block are doing better in raw totals. Everything else is about the same, maybe slightly lower in spots. And, of course, the block managed to expand three times to numbers like this. I'd put any talk of Black Clover "failing" as hypothetical with this knowledge.
  15. Shows whose titles start with "Black" ruin everything. And it's really a shame since the Dragon Ball hour is doing so good now, and they could be parlaying that into much-wanted gains for JoJo's. But who are we to talk? It looks like the ratings suck, so they're probably good... or something like that.
  16. And so it's come to this... here's one more of the squiddy show like it never even stopped. Squid Girl OVA 3 "I Th-ink We Need a Helper?" "How Squid You Find Out?" "Squid I Break The Law?" (no)
  17. Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion Squid Girl S2 #1 and OVA #3 Hacka Doll the Animation #1 and #2
  18. I've been almost entirely doing work for my final AutoCAD projects today, so here's a bit of levity with the thread. It's the last one of the year, too. Apparently, the actual episode is one of the most underwhelming in this entire part, but I'm sure most won't mind.
  19. The One Piece response is what I expected. After all, only being able to pick up a large batch of episodes or so isn't optimal if your show is barely clinging to life. Now, no Mob and no MHA. I guess that's typical. But I find Magus' Bride's situation to be odd, as it's only been out for a few months and you'd think that, with a SimulDub, if any interested party wanted to air it on TV, it'd be an easy shot. And there's no logical reason to sit on the TV rights, either... if the show even has them. I wonder if those are no longer given in the base package for a show. After all, most foreign distributors must assume their programs are going right to streaming in wherever they end up, so cutting out an option for the boob tube saves money. Regarding Al's Sentai comment, I guess their relationship with Toonami has quietly collapsed, and I think that's a shame. They had two shows that did well (Akame still has the second-highest pure ratings total for the revived block), and the Shinkai movie must have been given to Toonami for insanely cheap if not free, which would be a huge sign of trust. It is true that they haven't had as many prime action show targets lately, but Made in Abyss should be coming up in their release pipeline somewhat soon, and that one deserves to be considered if TV rights are available.
  20. That margin of victory, though... real Mnet America hours.
  21. Though I'm sure the DBZ hour won't be back at full strength until the new year, this looks like a more accurate schedule. And Black Clover is more accurately seen as a failure.
  22. But Toonami's birthday is on March 17th. Which was half the reasoning for them to air Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11.
  23. Mr. Osomatsu #9 to #12 Blend S #10 The Ancient Magus' Bride #5
  24. "Toonami won't get X show because it's good" is unashamedly fatalist, and I really wish we wouldn't say it. Also, AssClass is generally well-liked, so we can't even be consistent about this.
  25. Hey, I happen to only be watching two simulcasts this season, but then again, I do have quite a few past shows on my plate, and I would be watching new seasons of stuff like Mr. Osomatsu if I wasn't so far behind on the first one(s).
