  1. I was extremely mad about nothing in particular and basically took a mulligan on the whole block. I only missed JoJo's and HxH, but the two shows I did watch (My Hero and the last FLCL) are probably worthy of another one because of how not into it I was.
  2. It's really not about that, but [adult swim]'s nihilistic desire for a new installment. They don't care about everyone else's opinions, because they discovered the show first, aired it, and it's basically their pride and joy after so many years. And if [as] thinks they can make a new FLCL series that isn't just a rehash of the original, and in fact it will be two of them will improve the world as we know it with their presence, then let them take a stab at things. It helps that I'm not as emotionally invested in the original show as other people.
  3. They did start the panel at 7. Maybe they skipped a repeat to avoid redundancy?
  4. Magical Girl Ore #7 and #8 The Eccentric Family #7 and #8
  5. Well, now you know why Turner hates these blasted Nielsen ratings, and why they think these should be abolished. It's a bit like trying to get rid of the Electoral College, except this time, the object of your hatred isn't directly screwing you over.
  6. Yeah, because I made the mistake of posting while angry. At least the mods deleted it, but then again, I basically begged them to. And being political on social media isn't really a bad thing to do at this point, if only because the current political climate basically requires it. Just look at DeMarco's feed; you might also see his likes if you follow him, which only makes it stronger.
  7. In another situation, I feel like this would be whiny complaining against the system. At least Turner is apparently doing well enough to warrant not needing good TV ratings... although I am somewhat skeptical.
  8. What do they think of Flint, MI still not having clean water? Hey... this belongs in the thread somewhere.
  9. Okay then... Megalo Box #7. This show is so good, I might as well break from my normal formatting to say this outside of a spoiler. That cliffhanger was also extremely mean, so I want more immediately. Also, Mr. Osomatsu #19.
  10. If we're courting other past Toonami shows to rerun later on, my money's on Samurai Champloo. I also had that mind to replace Ghost in the Shell. You know, between that, a possible Gundam Unicorn rerun, and the fact that they'll always have GiTS and Samurai Jack at the ready, I think Toonami could expand all the way to 6:00 a.m. if they really wanted to. At least, I would consider that more plausible than it becoming a four-/five-hour repeating block of premieres.
  11. Well, I guess I was just mad because this project basically forced a mass shooting at a high school out of the news cycle. But I definitely shouldn't bother with relating things to politics in here. I also don't happen to give a shit about Cartoon Network nowadays. I have no nostalgia for what used to air, because I'm not really nostalgic about anything. If I cared about the network and the shows airing on it, I would at least want to know if this is halfway decent. It would be nice for today's kids to have their own ThunderCats show, even if it's inherently inferior to the 2011 reboot. There's been a lot of chatter about "teh CalArts style" making this one ruined, but at the same time, shows like Gravity Falls have that character design style, but their actual animation style can be much different, and that apparently isn't bad. That's just one example I remember from my Twitter feed. It just feels like every constructive point to be made about this already has, and now we're just pissing all over each other in the basement as a way to pass the time.
  12. I was halfway expecting GiTS to start over from the first season, and I wouldn't have minded that either way. If [adult swim] were to make the 3:00A hour just that and Bebop indefinitely, that's just another hour of reruns I can safely ignore.
  13. Well, this is the last show I would've guessed. It's nice to have another situation like with Parasyte where a more recent premiere gets reran at the bottom. This also seems to suggest they're not done with Lupin in general; Part V's dub is probably still a while off, but it could premiere whenever Toonami wants it ready.
  14. There's so much soul-crushing negativity in this thread. When are you people going to understand that you can just ignore things that you don't like? And yeah, what happened with the 2011 TC show is a tragedy, but there's little that can be done to fix what happened.
  15. And so comes the episode where Naraku (err, one of them) began to hate this show. Personally, I will remain ambivalent. Also, it's now two weeks out and we still don't know what's filling the empty slot on June 2... but I don't think it'll be anything major. Either they rerun Samurai Jack S5, or it's just GiTS from the first episode again.
  16. I don't even know about what you watch.
  17. The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Theater (Web) #1 to #13 Interviews with Monster Girls #3 and #4 The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Theater (Web) #14 to #26 The iDOLM@STER #25 and #26 (END) I apologize for all these idols. I put them all in one post so you can go back to ignoring them soon. Of course, it helps that the online-based Gekijou episodes are only a minute and a half each.
  18. The best hope for OPM S2 is that, since a vast majority of actual anime production is freelance work, the production companies can bring together all of the animators who made the first season so great. The actual studio doesn't always matter, and I definitely think more people should know that. I don't own the Blu-ray, so I can't give any exact information about the OVAs. However, they're apparently of the typical "light anime comedy" mold.
  19. I actually think the bigger issue this time is with Crunchyroll. Everything they license by themselves seems to come out at least a year later than if Funi gets it, then punts the subbed simulcast rights over to them. Kantai Collection first premiered in the Winter 2015 season, then didn't come out on Blu-ray for two-and-a-half years. Re:Zero has taken a similar path. And then you've got poor KonoSuba!, which hasn't even been licensed yet after more than two years since it premiered. It would tremendously suck if this means Megalo Box won't get dubbed until 2020. At some point, Funi should do something to get all of these backlogged shows from CR out of the way.
  20. Megalo Box pwns everything, as it rightfully should. I am 200% ready for this show to get dubbed and air on Toonami.
  21. I'd say so, at least for this particular industry. The biggest downside to not being a full member is that you can't vote on the contract actually provided by the union, although you can still participate in collective bargaining. There's also the matter of the dues you're paying through fi-core compared a to full membership. You typically pay less, but only by a single- or low double-digit percentage; it's important you still support them for what a union job gives you.
  22. Or he could drop out of the union in favor of financial core status. Basically, it doesn't count as a full union membership, but you do get most of the benefits when working for one, and it doesn't prevent you from working on non-union stuff. This is probably what most California-based VAs do, especially if they also pursue work in Texas... you know, because of those damn right-to-work laws.
  23. You know, they technically haven't announced a premiere date for the new season. It's just that everybody assumes it'll start in the fall because there's a special screening for the first episode in August. And... uh, before you go on theorizing again, I really doubt Viz is going to give this a quick dub. Heck, I'm still waiting for any updates on Mr. Osomatsu's dub, and that one was announced months ago.
  24. That's kind of strange. It might have to do with Steve being an union guy, since the majority of anime dubs produced nowadays aren't union-based. However, I've heard that there have been some produced in California as of late, mostly by Netflix and their dubbing studios.
