  1. Well, that's one way to go about it. At least some of the episodes are explicitly designed to put you to sleep.
  2. Have you watched Joe Pera Talks With You? I think it's amazing; the most banal kind of show possible, almost like a slice-of-life anime, is exactly what this network needed. It feels like a direct rebuke of Million Dollar Extreme, and all the other shows that use trolling and political references as their source of humor. Of course, that's not always a bad thing, but anything that gets away from it is something I'll at least try.
  3. This speaks a lot to my dissatisfaction with the block, although it has gotten better in recent months with the addition of My Hero Academia and new FLCL finally airing. Still, those are a long-running show and a glorified sequel, respectively. The only stand-alone premieres they've aired since the start of 2017 are Tokyo Ghoul and Black Clover, and the latter is a long-running show anyway. At least Part 4 of Lupin is only a sequel in name, and you can follow it regardless of your knowledge of the franchise; I speak from experience here. For as much as I wanted to harp on those people fearmongering (especially Colt, from Twitter) that Toonami would become nothing but long-running shonen by this point, I have to admit that they were completely right in the end. Hopefully, DBZ Kai will either leave or not rerun before 2:00A when its premiere run ends, and that should help out the ratings a bit. JoJo's still has two months to go, but when Diamond is Unbreakable starts airing (because you know it will), it has a much different plot and doesn't lean on the previous three parts too much, so maybe it'll attract new viewers. And in general, Toonami could still use a completely new, non-shonen show to draw some eyeballs, but I'm hopeful the crew will get one in the second half of the year. [say yes to narehates]
  4. The thing is, the ratings chat has become this way by design, now that we know the ratings are largely pointless in the grand scheme of things. But then you have people twisting the numbers around to promote their own agendas, as well as others who don't know any better using it to spread fear and paranoia. I don't think a new thread is going to fix these issues at all.
  5. How timely of you. Mr. Osomatsu #24 and #25 Megalo Box #10 Magical Girl Ore #11 Kakegurui #6
  6. Uh... okay. This wasn't required, although I appreciate the attempt to keep some decorum. This also solves my other problem of numbering the threads.
  7. Eh... upon further review, I guess the band itself capitalizes their name in some official material, as seen in this post. It's still not required, though.
  8. Okay, now you're just parroting my talking points. And as a side note, the name Yes is never supposed to be capitalized, although I guess you can do so if you really want.
  9. ...I genuinely hate this thread now. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to even look at it again. Also, before I leave, can we please rename it so that it doesn't have "You are on a new board"? We've been on it for over a year and a half. It doesn't need to be numbered, either, since a thread can now have infinite replies. Stop sucking so much.
  10. Well yeah, there's that. But at least the talk is about the shows, rather than banal logistics. I sometimes pepper up the Trunks thread with some of my recent thoughts, so I'll have to do another post soon. Lucky you. It'll probably be a long time before anyone gets to 90,125 posts, and I'll probably be old and senile by the time I rack up that many.
  11. What's really unfortunate about this is that Jason is on break from Twitter because his mom recently died. He probably could've been able to clear all of this up for us sooner.
  12. Split marathons on one night is a novel idea, but I dont think it'll ever happen. On the other hand, I am expecting them to double up on FLCL Progressive at some point, which seems like the easiest way to deal with a week without Kai. Also, expect an FLCL 2 rerun instead of a second new show. I'm not that optimistic.
  13. I'm of the opinion that they might still do a marathon on the 30th, even though it would make almost everyone complain.
  14. Well, you're right on one of those points: It seems kind of weird that such an unprecedented event would happen and preempt an [as] show after one episode, but I assume they give zero fucks on that front.
  15. And now I'm cynical again, so I want to make a comment about how Toonami fans used to discuss the actual shows rather than technical aspects of the schedule, even though that's blatantly false. Seriously, does anyone find this sad?
  16. Woah, holy shit. So does this mean they're going to do a marathon on the 30th and preempt Toonami for back-to-back weeks? Either way, something funky is gonna have to happen either then or on the 14th of July.
  17. Well damn, this thread barely managed a full page. Black Clover usually isn't this unpopular, so I guess my lack of confidence in the title drove some users away.
  18. In other, somewhat unrelated news, bkub recently had his Twitter account suspended, although it does appear to be back for now. I was wondering if it was an intentional stunt to promote Hoshiiro Girldrop's new season, and I'm disappointed that it isn't.
  19. So they're cramming as many plot twists as possible into the last part of the show to try and make it better? Meh. Something similar happened with Kill la Kill, but that show was inherently watchable to begin with.
  20. We've always seemed to want Toonami to do a little more advertising outside of its parent network, but when an FLCL Progressive ad airs during an extremely-hyped NBA playoff game and fails to make a dent, that's a pretty big argument against this. They definitely should have aired it in an earlier slot. I'm not sure how you go to this from an 11:00 premiere for Samurai Jack S5. I think swapping it with DBZ Kai, although unfair to the latter show, would've been a better look, since it allows you to easily replace it with a more typical premiere.
  21. Heh... this is rather lazy. Only when you come back to edit it, in giving this an image or two, will it be worthy of the vaunted "goo jah".
  22. People are egregiously overusing exclamation points in their post titles. I'm on vacation in (or rather, close to) the mountains again and don't really give a crap about that.
  23. Magical Girl Ore #10 Mr. Osomatsu #22 and #23
  24. Not the guy who was directing this show. But yeah, Yamakan be crazy. This is a pretty insane controversy in general, and I've never seen anything like it. Of course, another thing we don't see much of nowadays is racists getting reprimanded for their views.
