JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 4 Discussion!!
Blatch replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
Pretty much. Trump will be too busy fulfilling other campaign platitudes to specifically go after "teh gays". He'll probably just hope the Supreme Court justice he picks overturns the particular ruling. But if it is true that Pence will basically be the acting president for this term, it's okay to be concerned. -
Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier
Blatch replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'll just drop some opinions on each show right here: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Eh... I zoned out on this show a few episodes into the Android Saga. It's hard to believe that I was fully engrossed in it before. : Intruder 3: The sandworm fight [(]with laser cannons[!)] was a genuinely cool action scene. I liked when the new Clydes came in to console TOM, as us all. And I really like this running gag that he's haunted by having tons of intruders come into his base at any given time. Seriously, TOM deserves better! And on a meta note, if they do another TIE in November 2017, I really hope it doesn't have a single Intruder in sight. I want to watch something different now, even if it's just a week or two of TOM struggling with galactic tax returns. JoJo's: Señor Señor Zeppeli seems like a great dude. And, as rather cliche as Hamon seems, at least it fuckin' makes sense. This episode felt pretty lucid from start to finish, between his demands that Jonathan not spill any of his red wine to the vampire jumping out of the dismembered horse. What is this, the lyrics to an A.C. song? Gundam IBO: Hunter × Hunter: It's pretty obvious that the Heaven's Arena building was inspired by Dubai's Burj Khalifa, which is weird, since that skyscraper is actually the tallest in the world right now, and Khalifa is a One Piece character. But, to put it simply, I can see this arc going places. Though I hope the fights get more exciting, since this episode had almost every conflict decided by a single blow. Naruto: Shippuden: ??? One Piece: I've fallen behind on One Piece, pence why I might not care about it being removed, but I guess this episode was fun. Or at least, Oars punching itself in the face was. One-Punch Man: Didn't watch it because of it being a rerun, but Saitama's supermarket rant remains the stuff of legend. [it's both political humor and a Log Horizon joke] -
Well... you see, there's this vague metaphysical concept called "your candidate not winning", and after assuming the election was pretty much in Hillary's column, I couldn't help but be sad. I've vastly improved since then, though. It must help that I put any matter of politics not named the Trans-Pacific Partnership (which is apparently dead... as of Friday) in a column of existential stasis. So, until the first nuke is launched in Trump's war on flippancy and it's directed right at my house, all bets are off.

I have been a lifelong Coke/Pepsi drinker, but I don't rate those very highly nowadays. I tend to prefer anything with a distinct fruit flavor. Fanta in particular is really good. I just recently tried the Fruit Punch flavor (which is exclusive to 7-Eleven stores where I live), and while I like it... it tastes too much like watermelon only. Between having one on the packaging and sporting a fleshy pink color, you'd assume they would have figured things out ahead of time and not have to resort to minor false advertising. But still, I think it's cool. I also like Mountain Dew in pretty much every flavor I've tried, including the Kickstarts. I have a few cans of their Energizing Fruit Punch in the downstairs fridge, and they taste like the real thing. 8)

Has society totally broken down? Is nothing sacred? Is love a lie?! [space Ghost...]

Honestly? I'm not surprised. I wish I could be, but with how horrible humanity is, I'm not. I could make strawman arguments about how this country is awful because we let an elementary school classroom full of children die to a maniac with a gun, but I'm not. Trump actually did it. He didn't need a ground game, a competent strategy, enough campaign advertising, or even hope. He just said "Make America Great Again!" and everyone followed. He wasn't even dented by the people who forgot to vote. I think that speaks to us, as a nation, as a planet, and as a species. We value meaningless platitudes in front of genuine action. We have more in common with the GamerGate trolls with anime avatars wanting women to be burned at the stake than any supposedly "good" person. This election has made morality meaningless, for the only true morality we have is predetermined. But maybe this doesn't mean that there are enough bad people in the world to vote for Trump. Maybe we have to find meaning in the meaningless and turn something into nothing by examining ourselves at the corporeal level. This is not on the same level as 2000 when about 500 voters in Florida ruined it for the rest of us; this is a systemic problem. It must be solved through any way possible, even if it's in ways we don't know. I think humans are inherently evil, but that doesn't stop me from trying to make change in different ways because it's what gives me pleasure. I've never really thought about what my pleasure might to do change the world, but I hope that it will, because blind hope is really the best thing for any human being. So basically, fuck humanity. Only do what you think will change the world, and don't ponder how nihilism makes your actions meaningless. Some day, maybe you'll cast the deciding vote that brings peace and justice to the world without knowing it. Do the power, and do the pleasure. And if you're evil or you at least think you're evil, shake it off. Just hope that you can be the one who does the impossible, because, as I'm sure many fictional works once told us, kicking the curb and doing the impossible is something humanity loves to do, even if they don't know if it's possible... because fuck those guys. Peace.

The Toonami Ratings Thread 1.0 :You are on a new board
Blatch replied to StarPanda's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Even on a new board, it's nice to see that old habits haven't died. The movie probably would have done better if the first hour had properly been tabulated. Or at least I think that's the case. -

And speaking of that, the ShowBuzzDaily article is out, so let's get right to it. -

Coolio. Now I can share my nuanced ratings opinions to a more hardened crowd. 8) The action will start tomorrow... -
I just took advantage of my right to participate in democracy and watched the episode. It was pretty cool. My favorite segment was the "Gummie Chernobyl", mostly because of it seeming light and fluffy and suddenly taking a dark (yet hilarious) turn. And the shot of the empty Ghost Planet control room immedaitely after... I wonder if that was a laconic tribute to C. Martin Croker.

Now featuring: Tits and shit (Freezing, by Poke), the not-Virgin Heroes (Boys over Flowers, also by them), idols, and ____ (by Blatch) Hello there. You probably already know who me and my friends are, but I feel like elaborating. When I first came to these boards, I noticed PokeNirvash's strange tradition of assigning content ratings to various anime shows, such as OreImo, and the first season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure before it aired on Toonami. So I decided to get in on the act by rating Squid Girl, followed by other programs. So, to make a short story even more brief, after two different configurations of the [as] boards, they (finally) bit the dust, so I've decided to continue the tradition alongside my friend. If you want to see what the process is like, check out this sample album of mine, which gives ratings to such one-off programs as Holy Knight. You can find a ton of ratings in the folders of both me and Poke. Just look in our profiles and/or signatures. Also, anyone else who feels like joining in on the fun can still do so. Just tell me you're interested and want to do a series, and I'll update the top part of this thread accordingly. There are no real rules to doing the thing; you can talk about the show (preferably an anime, since this thread is in that section) as much as you want, but make sure to include a content rating, maybe some explanation for the rating, and an image. Poke will tell you how to make one if you don't know, but try not to sweat it. For archival purposes, here are links to past versions of this thing: Lithium, NodeBB (OreImo, Squid Girl), and ProBoards... which was never used.

Greetings, everyone. No matter the website, you can't keep a moderately mediocre person like me down.
