What does this mean, then? As in, what is the relationship between the first sentence and the second if not a point of derision at the people in question? I'm not the only person to read it this way, nor is it the first time this type of thing has come up. Writing it off as my imagination is exactly the what I'm talking about. I couldn't have a valid reason for the interpretation, could I? It must be a group hallucination.

I'm sure there is a conversation to be had. I wasn't really planning to get into the weeds of it since I'm no economics wizard and was only commenting on the reductive reasoning.

You can call it personal all you want, you're shitting on people your plainly have no interest in understanding out of sheer arrognance. You can puff your chest out all you want, we all see how pathetic it is. It also wouldn't be reasonable for you to drag stranger's eating habits into economy conversations, yet here we are.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
naraku360 replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
I never said it was intelligent. I'd argue most of America's mega-wealthy are 2nd and 3rd (or more) generation of wealth and fundamentally don't understand the limitations of their power. Or have simply been rich for so long they've forgotten what the outside world is like. I'm not confident that dipshits like Elon Musk or Donald Trump have any concept of what losing power could look like, until now that it's too late to fix. Jingle some coins and they'll be your best friend until you hurt their fragile feelings. -
None of this has to do with what I'm responding to. My "argument" is that you come off like a smug elitist who's more concerned with looking down on people's decisions than recognizing even the most basic of reasons they may have made those decisions. A criticism heavily exemplified by this out of touch, pompous response of yours. You consistently demonstrate a disinterest in anyone's experience beyond your own. It's all politics, all the time.

"For my entire adult life, people have been saying workers deserve living wages. But those same people also like the food they can afford!" "Silly poors!"

How good are you at knowing someone is into you
naraku360 replied to André Toulon's topic in General Discussion
I'm probably pretty good at it. I have very limited patience for beating around the bush, especially when it comes to relationships. Being coy and expecting me to make a move is something I will likely pick up on, but it's a red flag. -
2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
naraku360 replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
While it may sound counterintuitive, dictatorships backed by corporations are a fairly common occurrence. They can buy privileges normal people can't or influence policy making. America functions not dissimilarly. We're not a dictatorship necessarily, but popular opinion rarely has a fraction of the impact of money. The lack of real power voters have and the dramatic overreach of the wealthy makes us not all that far off from a corporate dictatorship. If you push corporate America and the GOP policymakers to the logical conclusion of their combined greed, I doubt a GOP-led dictatorship would hurt corporations given how much power corporations have had in building the present system. I'm pretty sure this is a who rather than what. Trump is financially destitute, legally fucked, and the GOP can't get rid of him. I'm not convinced a GOP frontrunner as obviously frothing at the mouth to become a dictator as Trump is would get the same rejection. Trump has insane, unprecedented baggage. They aren't bailing on him out of dislike toward dictators. They're bailing on him because their lizard brains only comprehend stimulations relating to money, of which Trump clearly has none. -

They'd be happiest with a dictatorship that doesn't impede their profits. -
I didn't feed it for it to come over to me. Quite a few cats have. That was the only one I got the chance to feed at all since it hung out more often than the others.

Is there anything worse than a bathroom cat?
naraku360 replied to nameraka's topic in General Discussion
A bathroom cat with a scat fetish. -
I have random cats walk up to me. There was one I almost took in as a stray because she would wait for me to come home almost every day for a couple months, but someone claiming to be the owner yelled at me for thinking the cat with no collar or chip was a stray, and I only saw the cat once or twice after.
-
Someone isn't a cat person, apparently.

I was really just ballbusting over the sentiment, but if you want to get into it, I don't think the level of extremism of individuals in an organization changes whether or not they're terrorists. The motivation behind an act of terrorism doesn't change it being an act of terrorism. The IDF, as an organization, is deliberately doing this. Individuals in the IDF don't really matter when fear and destruction are Netanyahu's stated goals, even if usually wedged between dishonest claims of trying to prevent casualties. What you're describing is no different from Hamas recruitment. I doubt every single member is there out of hatred rather than to survive, but if their method of survival is to participate in terrorism, they're still a terrorist.

I think she thinks she's on Netanyahu's payroll but all she's really on is shitty, dying message board for middle aged stoners, and also meth.
