I mean, it died before I got KOS-MOS, which means I didn't lose a character excessively tedious to get. I tried for hours to get her and still never did, so I'm glad I'm not losing that.

Exclusively internal, it seems. If the data is on an SD card and the console is factory reset, the SD card auto-formats. I don't think I had an SD card, though. Apparently the only current backup method is to manually backup from one Switch to another, which is fucking stupid.

Yeah. I'm just pissed they didn't have any backup systems so I likely lost a party that took over a week in hours to put together and was just about to finish it. I only lost the data because they gave no way to backup.

I didn't fuck it up, though. I set it down to charge normally, then when I came back it was dead and wouldn't charge. That's all. I thought this was a battery issue. But apparently I can go fuck myself if I want to even know why it broke.

Just fucking died. Nintendo says save data can't be recovered. I was on chapter 10 of Xenoblade 2. Probably over 200 hours and the game just about to be finished.
