i think we are nowhere near creating an intelligence that can replicate the human mind (and it may ultimately prove to be impossible) but there is no doubt we are in the early stages of the ai revolution and china is kicking our ass

I didn't notice or more accurately I wasn't expecting any specifically because of Steve and his comments on Twitter in defense of the show. I don't blame him at all for doing so, but everyone who disliked the LA show isn't just a "hater". I gave it an honest shot and I thought it was downright terrible. The writing genuinely pissed me off.

It's not by any means bad and I am enjoying it too, but the story does feel like generic existential AI type stuff. No new ground being explored.
